Nope I'm on holiday actually. Anyway, stop bringing irrelevant matters into the discussion just because your arguments don't stand

LOL, on this occasion no. Not even a grain.

My whole point is that no one is right or wrong - we're just different. Nothing will change that. I for one don't want independence - fecking halfwits would make a worse job of it than Blair does, and thats saying something.

To be honest, I recon there is as much anti scottish feeling amongst certain of the English as there is anti english feeling amongst certain of the Scots. That is, those who really do harbour a hard line hatred for whatever reason.

But it has become a national pastime to support anyone but England at Football. (note - only Football).

Although I agree that supporting Argentina was well out of order.

Agree with most of that, but i *would* say, (even though you could file it under "Well, you would say that, wouldn't you"), is that the anti-Scottish element is responding *to* the anti-English sentiment of the Scots who display it. We like the Scots, we really do, but when you have your supposed neighbour blatantly supporting the opposition, it sorta rankles. We ain't gonna change diddly squat though, are we?!

I'd love to see the day when Scotland qualify and England don't. I will accept your abuse willingly!
Hang on! You have your own papers up there, and telly, and I hardly see any references to England at all! You must be importing English ones illegally

The day that Scotland and/or Wales qualify and England don't, Satan will be wearing a parka

Nope, we're not.

And yes, you wouldsay that, wouldn't you

I can see how it wrankles though, but then England are the opposition, or "the auld enemy", so to speak.

Maybe it goes against the grain to support a team that beats us on a regular basis

Geezer,

Take the high road, River City and 10 minutes of local news tacked on to the national news and sport hardly qualify as "our own telly"

Patriotic my **** - I was in a pub in Glasgow a couple of years back when there was a double header of Rugby Internationals - England France followed by Scotland Ireland. The English beat France and about 80% of the Patriotic scots fcuked off home in a huff - leaving the English fans (and the Scottish Rugby fans) to stay on to cheer on the Scots (and get pissed together).

I couldn't believe what I was seeing at the time - Very sad reflection on a nation I felt .

After a debate with aquaintances it has come to light that malt whisky produced in Scotland is known as whisky, not whiskey as you have stated. Whiskey is infact the equivelant to whisky that is not produced in Scotland; for example Irish whiskey, or bourbon.

Don't feel bad, there is no offence intended. I too made the mistake of thinking whisky was a variant of whiskey; I was politely corrected by an Englishman and felt like a proper tit.

Just so you know.

Naaah.... the Channel Islands are not part of the UK but are loyal to the crown. Scotland IS part of the UK but is disloyal to the crown!

Hardly surprising when YOUR national anthem contains classics like this.

Lord, grant that Marshal Wade,
May by thy mighty aid,
Victory bring.
May he sedition hush and like a torrent rush,
Rebellious Scots to crush,
God save the Queen.
