"Dear Sir/Madam,

I would like to draw your attention to a particular page on your website:

http://www.cossescountryhouse.com/fine-wines.html

After a debate with aquaintances it has come to light that malt whisky produced in Scotland is known as whisky, not whiskey as you have stated. Whiskey is infact the equivelant to whisky that is not produced in Scotland; for example Irish whiskey, or bourbon.

Don't feel bad, there is no offence intended. I too made the mistake of thinking whisky was a variant of whiskey; I was politely corrected by an Englishman and felt like a proper tit.

Just so you know.

Regards,

Claire Robertson"

BTW, I work where they make "The Cratur" and all Scotch is Whisky (after at least three years maturation) and all Whisky is Scotch (as defined and protected by the The Definition of Scotch Whisky ), anything else is Whiskey. Also, no such thing as bad whisky, just not enough whisky!

Did you know that there are many famous vodkas made in Scotland?

K.

2) If you weren't so rebellious whoever wrote that version wouldn't have had a reason to use those words in the first place!

Zidane was class. He never moaned once whenever he was knocked on his *** & had two chances & converted both. Top man.

Naaah.... the Channel Islands are not part of the UK but are loyal to the crown. Scotland IS part of the UK but is disloyal to the crown!
And exactly what is the crown when it's at home? Is this some anachronism, like a monarchy or sumthin?

I reckon the Scots are just frustrated about achieving so little and love to blame all their woes on their colonial master. Personally I used to support any of the home nations over and above johnny foreigner types. Not any more though. How I pissed myself laughing when you fell to the mighty Dutch by that wide 66-0 margin. Spent the whole night keeping a Scottish mate informed by text messages as he couldn't get coverage over in Denmark. It was brilliant as he thought I was pulling his leg over the score especially as the skirts had won the first leg at home.

Can't believe all the childish baiting that is going on over something so simple as a game of footy...

Unhappy

Ally Mcleod
There you have us Scots in a nutshell.
Actually had us believing we had a good chance of winning - and we loved him.
We got stuffed - and we hated him.
He sadly died recently - and we all love him again as we now realise he was a great character of which there are sadly too few nowadays. They're all bloody spoilt fashion icons!!
Oh well.

Cool

Daz, I prefer the great classic:

All Be Krauts

(tune: If your happy and you know it. )

If it weren't for all of us you'd all be Krauts
If it weren't for all of us you'd all be Krauts
If it weren't for all of us
If it weren't for all of us
If it weren't for all of us you'd all be Krauts

It's so poignant that one

Or the all time spiritual vally rouser:

ALL this time.....

(tune: Alice )

All this time weve been living round the corner to wales wales who the f*ck are wales !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

But this is my fav religious classic, brings a tear to me eye

Away in a manger

(tune: Away in a manger )

Away in a manger
No crib for a bed
The little Lord Jesus STOOD UP AND HE SAID..

ENGLAND...ENGLAND

Class lads, pure class, dont give up yer day jobs

Look at the top two images and tell me what you think links them?
1.

2.

The first image is an island from an autonomous region of this country:

The region being:

The Canary Islands.

The answer:

Why do they Scotland and Tenerife share a flag? I asked my brother when I went to stay with him while he lived over there. It's all down to the maritime battles of the past. The defeated enemy would hand over their flag to the victors which symbolised that the captured flag and it's associated land now belongs to the victors.

So when the English lost their battle against the Spanish, they decided to hand over the Saltire and Scotland. So if it's any consolation to you Jocks, you can be Scottish and Spanish.

And after England's footballing performance yesterday, my brother is claiming to be Spanish! Don't blame him - it's a game for poofs anyway.

I defy you to watch the sun setting over Lochranza and tell me it's not the most beautiful place you could ever visit. Or to stand on Iona, and not feel a huge sense of poignancy at Pope's comment that "an honest man's the noblest work of God".

As for the Scots - there are those who don't care for the English, but then how often do we have the "sorry mate, don't accept no funny money" comment down South when trying to spend a Scottish £10 note, or have 'hilarious' racial stereotypes about mean Scots, or, indeed, suffer the stupidity of London-centric journalists in seach of the perfect deep-fried Mars Bar.
