Down the corridor I could hear what sounded like somebody being murdered

I intend being there but I'll probably pass out.
If she needs a C-Section then I'm afraid it's pub time...

Chris I said right from the start I wanted to be there but I was told because I have already had a child that it obviously wouldn't be important to me and she would rather have a friend there.
Lets just say its an attitude like this that makes things rather strained to say the least when complete lies are told about me.

Is this an area where a man has a CHOICE any more?
I feel very sorry for guys who are horrified by the idea - you know, the type that throw up if they see operations on on Tv or something.
>>got a nice (pic) of D jnr as he came out through the sunroof<< PMSL![Smile](images/smilies/smile.gif)
I was OK (as you ask ;-)), but it was pretty tough when they got the tools out - it is NO walk in the park or aphrodisiac!!! Next time I'll take me own scissors too - theirs was bit blunt!

Gotta say that I'd find this kinda thing rather grotesque... don't think I'd be able to **** a girl after seeing that ![EEK!](images/smilies/eek.gif)
My best bet would be to do what Gazza did, go to the pub and get p1ssed while the docs get on with it, wake up in the morning and it's all done without having to look at a single bit of blood and gore![Wink](images/smilies/wink.gif)
Some of you will be glad to hear I don't have any kids and don't intend ever having any, my sis (who is a few years older) went down the married with children route and it totally confirmed to me how much I don't want that lifestyle. I'm way too irresponsible and immature, and I want it to stay that way as long as poss! Look after number one
. Just remembered it's Friday, ahhh let's go and get p1ssed, no kids to worry about

Just been through this 3 weeks ago for the second time.
My take on it is that we have a **** easy job.
Anyone who carries a bowling ball around for 9 months suffering heamorhoids varicose veins and a multitude of various other ills and is then required to eject said bowling through a hole a tenth the size (aproximatley obviously as i have never got down there with a measureing tape) deserves every second of attention and support in whatever way we can provide.
If that makes me a pc femminist then so be it.
The first we had was 9lb 10 with a head just about the size of a bowling ball on its own.
It took 28 hours to come and we were a nats cod from a cesarean.
the second came much quicker 4 hrs 15 minutes
.
Some how a bit of squeamishness and a slightly crushed hand doesnt quite cut it compared to the above

My wife is about to pop - no way am I going to be there at the *event*! It'll be at home as well. I can miss out on all that blood and gore thank you very much. Too much PCness these days with everybody and their gra saying to the man 'oh you HAVE to be there'. Bo&&ux to that.
And the wife agrees now - she was a bit miffed at first but when she realised I was serious and she thought about it she would rather I wasn't either.
Paul M - agree with your first sentance! And apparently surveys back this up. A sizable proportion of men there *at the messy* end feel the same......

Glad someone agrees with me... yeah I'd say it's become fashionable these days to give the impression that you're a "new-age" guy who's happy to be at the event and will then go home and do all the housework for the missus coming home
Bollox to that, if you want to be there then great, if not sod what everyone else thinks and don't. I'm sure the docs can manage without the dad being there, it's what comes afterwards that counts i.e. the upbringing when you will make a difference.
Each to their own, but to me it's a bit like how some people react when they find out how black pudding is made - they quite enjoy eating it until they know what's inside and afterwords they can barely look at it... I think that would apply to me and the attraction to girls if I seen what some of you lot are describing
