I saw a White Volvo 440 with two said flags on it, but they had also taken it a step further..... they had got some red tape and put it on their wing mirrors in the shape of a cross, AND done the exact same across their bonnet!

I don't get this anti-flag stuff? Why is it so bad to show a bit of support for your country?

Ok maybe 10ft flags on poles in the back garden is going a bit far, but a small flag in the back window? Why not?

Because it's "not British". Much better to walk around slagging the place off, apparently. I think we are a nation of cynics and pessimists.

OK, sometimes I think the Americans and Australians go a bit far when patriotism isn't tempered by humility, modesty or sometimes even reality - but there shouldn't be anything wrong with standing up and being proud of your country every now and then.

Here here . What's wrong with getting behind your country? I personally got a free sticker for the car when i bought my england top. It's displayed nicely in the back window. If anybody would like to stop me and have a chat about this (like the guy above said he would) then fine

I saw a Volvo S40 tonight with the entire BONNET draped in a flag which I found most amusing. I couldn't believe my eyes.... stood out like a sore thumb on a maroon car.

Havent you to$$ers got anything better to do than slag people of for supporting
their country.Rather see flags on scoobs rather than them covered in stickers.

Wurzel - do you have an issue with the quality of your chav flag? Mine (x2) are trying to unravel themselves like a badly knitted cardigan

the day after england got lashed all over
Must be talking bout the rugby?

I like seeing the odd flag flying outside a house etc. Its patriotic and something we don't do too well at normally. Its nice to see us showing we're proud of our identity.

In other countries (In US and Thailand they're everywhere) you see plenty of flags on shops and houses and buildings. Its a nice sight.

The car flags are a bit naff but i'm not gonna winge about em. Each to their own.
Man I thought I was a moany old b***ard until I saw some of the stuff whined about on SN
