nahh, not having it, still bloody awful.
they should have made the blue inserts black leather to contrast with the suede - well it looks like suede anyway

having had the r32 back to back against the rs, for drive ability and involvement, the RS gets my vote
the 32 feels more of an old mans car, whereas the rs is designed to keep you awake!
shameless plug > see mine for sale here RS FOR SALE
and pics here
RS PICS
talizman you also have pm

John - having tried all these cars & owning the RS for 6 months, i have to say go for the R32, RS is a hard car, hard to live with IMHO, the 1st month of owning the RS was wicked, totally loved it, then i grew to know the car, began to hate it & started to look for something else a few months later i ordered the scoob, my g/f couldnt drive the RS (she aint even gettin to sit in the drivers seat of the scoob) she found it hard to drive. Mini's are ten a penny, got about 3 in my street (all specs), had the R32 for a day & really liked it was actually going to go for it until i realised that the insurance for the scoob was under a grand.
Go for the R32 you wont regret it

Stephen,
I probably won't drive the car an awful lot, just as I don't drive the Clio much at the moment so I reckon the RS would satisfy my "occasional" pleasure! Ooh err!
I test drove an RS prior to buying my MY03 STi PPP which was a bit of an unfair comparison, so I obviously chose the STi.
The RS instead of the Cup however, is quite appealing, and I have to be honest, I think the RS is a nicer looking car than anything Subaru have ever made!
I cannot see us going for the Golf as I just cannot bring myself to spend over £20k on a Golf!
Dilemma.......
22B anyone?

I test drove a Cooper S demonstrator with 17" wheels and it was so hard it shook my fillings out and everything rattled. V. disappointing for a BMW.
I wasn't impressed with performance either.
Bought WRX!! Much better!

SPANNER IN THE WORKS!!!!!
We went to our local BMW garage today to have a (proper) look at Cooper S, as I'm not entirely familiar with them.....
Anyway, the BM garage adjoins a Honda dealership and guess what?
Yep, she now "wants" a Civic Type R, even though she hated them when I test drove one 18 months ago!
Bloomin' women!!!!
Anyway, she has bombed out the Cooper S and I've managed to get the R32 idea out of her head, so the short list is now.......
Focus RS
Civic Type R
Thats it, for now!

drove all cars and must say that the mini was most disappointing.
The Focus RS did quite well, you can even feel how much marchin this engine has, which has also been confirmed by someone I know who tuned it to 280bhp..
you say: 'on the front wheels???' yes.. and it works quite well, you have definately more wheel spin, but it goes well!
but we all really want a focus cosworth.. (4x4 - 310bhp)

Focus RS's can be had for £18.5k all day long.
R32's are still £21-£22k
Too much of a price difference, especially when it'd be my last choice.

Had a couple of Golfs before the scooby : GTi 1.8T and V6 4 motion for a year each. Despite everything you hear about Golfs, they were the worst cars I've ever had for build, reliability, dealers....never again.

To be fair, I think that ClioSport.net are in th emain, younger guys with Clio Williams and 16 valvers, as quite often insurance is the topic and their ages become apparent when you hear the quotes for the 172/Cup they get!
Its a pity I'm not closer to Junction 28 Car Sales as they have a collection of RS's at the moment, even if it meant taking a bit of a hit on the Clio....
Oh well

6 years old
110,000 on the clock no internal upgrades - 360 bhp
stood behind it the last time it was getting abit of stick on a rolling road, very clear not a hint of smoke
Never use a main dealer they are clueless most of the time but isn't that true of most dealers

John - i hate the Civic, tell her just to get the 22b failing that its got to be the RS, i wont drop any money, will soon be a collectors cars & (since having a wee blast in one 2day) are wicked little cars (this one was tuned to 280bhp as well)
I know i owned one & hated it but its like that dirty girl you know (well i do) you cant live with it but a little shot every now & again feels great (even ifs she had a transplant)
RS mate its got to be
Tell her listen ........ think about the wedding & the fact we are trying to save money & cut back, well the focus wont lose any money over the next couple of years its going to be a collectors item in the future & ........ it really make sense.
Go for it
Stephen

My good lady is going through her now bi-monthly phase of wanting to change her car and the three models above are gracing this months short list!
She currently drives a Clio Cup which we have owned since new, and she wants a change.

forget the rest, buy her a 1.3 Ka. I am embarrassed for you that you had to ask the question on SN
Spend the rest of the 20K on something for the track

Ka?
Why should an enthusiast settle for a Ka? Would you?
Embarrassed? Don't be.
I value the opinions of SN members, hence why I ask for theirs.
Spend it on something for the track?
The Cup is a track car, and the RB5 is pretty capable too!
