in that case, I like your style.

Your thread title should read:

What track car can the missus safely drive?

Lancer Evo 5.

Nothing wrong with the humble Ka. Some seriously sorted handling there. And the SportKa is up there with the Focus RS for corner speed and agility.

I've owned 2 of the 3 and driven the Golf. The R32 did nothing for me tbh. Capable car, looks good etc but just lacks character.

Focus RS was very nice although it can be a handfull when on full boost on uneven surface, off-camber etc. Its not as bad as was made out by certain areas of the press, but it is noticeable and can catch you unawares. The Bluefin upgrade is essential though - it actually makes the car easier to drive, 1st and 2nd gears in particular are transformed.

Cooper S is a cracking little car. Build quality is better than the Ford but it lacks grunt. I went for the Hartge upgrade although the Works is pretty much the same. The basic car has a fantastic chassis and handles better than the RS - you won't believe how much speed the car can carry through the corners when pushed. But in standard spec its a perfect town car and b road blaster - it does lack grunt if you're doing motorway driving.

If I was doing it again, I'd probably have a Works Cooper S unless you need useable back seats and more load space. In standard spec, the RS Focus would be my choice.

Talizman, As a girly myself I can honestly say I mutch prefered the CTR as an allround package than the RS, as I am sure performance is not the only concern for your better half. If it is the Focus is not in the real world 4k faster than the CTR. Having driven both on and off track. Which is why the other half picked the Civic. Aww bless (I picked the STI so guess who has the brains of THIS outfit). I did drive the RX8 a couple of weeks ago and as something a bit different (providing you like its quirky looks) it is very smooth and forgiving to drive. Corners even better than the RS IMHO. Smooth engine and those funky doors are way neat. Oh and Im not againsed the RS or Fords in general (used to drive a Series 1 back in the day, and yes Im originaly from Essex...lol). Just talking from a womans point of view.

Alternativly go to: http://www.litchfieldimports.co.uk/racing.html

and order a TEG.

Emms,

Your words of wisdom have convinced me.

I bought a Civic Type R today.

Just need to sell the RB5 now!
