People only do it to see how will your car goes. They dont actually expect to be able to overtake you you know. .....Just the same as we would go sit behind a ferrari or porker etc ....

Always makes me laff when i read this kind of thread .... Its like all scooby drivers think they are god and that everyone else on the road wants to race them. Have you ever wondered if perhaps they just wanna overtake?

Dream weaver drives an Mi16 205gti and if he's anything of a driver then yeah he will upset a few of you scooby boys ...... flame suit on.

nice one Jeff

Gary, still waiting for the quote from the BTCC blokes - said they would have it to me last Friday but still nothing. Have hassled them and they said its on its way now, dont expect much change from £3k, but will be knocking on the door of 210bhp when done

If Allans red one for sale was Miami I would have that instead

agreed, i try and coax ferraris/bikes/porsches or anything else into a race wether i can beat them or not, if i see a maclaren F1 i'd certainly have a bash, he'd obliterate me but i'd be interested to see how quick it was...

ps i reckon my 60-80 time would kill ANY vectra or Mondeo (MY96 STi V-Ltd)

Had a wee rover right on my bumper last night, young boy from same village as me left him sitting and that was still only using 4000rpm. Had 1k service today so he'll get a bigger shock next time! harmless fun really.
Differant story other night though astra mk4 up my *** through town was really worried they were gonna hit me they were that close.

Agree most are just wanting 2 c u boot it c what they're car can do, but it can be a bit annoying at times. Once u leave them sitting once they tend 2 know better next time, most start waving after that, was a bit like that when yonger myself but never tried it on with a scoob knew better.

Best laugh prob be 1 time in old bugeye with Blitz exhaust(v loud) Was sitting at lights in middle of town at the front of que with a bike behind me, lots of traffic about. He started reving his engine loudly tryin it on, got fed up so just reved mine back totally drowned his out. He soon stopped when all the other folk about started laughing at him, then i just toddled of when lights changed, town aint the place 2 go fast.

FuNNY.......I was trashed by a Nova that sat up the *** of my STi.I was waiting for the traffic to clear from the fast lane(M8) so I could boot it,when said car started smelling my ****.I thought, right when the road clears,I'll boot it and leave him going backwards.
Well,he must have had NOS, plus a serious spend on that car, left me for dead feeling a bit too **** sure.(u ought to have heard the noise from this thing......145 db+)
Still ,his car looked ****.........so there.

I normally drive slower so they can't get past - 1. it annoys them, 2. it makes them know that you could p!ss on them from a great height if you wanted but can't be bothered.

Has anyone had a Golf R32 behind them that didn't have something to prove ?
sister's boyfriend has one, we've never gone head to head - but he's had it uprated to 280bhp and he's say it's still not as quick as my (then standard but not any longer) MY00, lovely car but they weigh a ton - and after driving it I was a bit dissapointed really - expected more. Fantastic noise with it mind you...

...I find my car appears to be a mini cooper magnet...

Dont think many cars will keep up with my FQ330 60-80 standard 330 maybe some, but not mine not a chance....hehe(modded to hell!!!),at the end of the day most people get up your *** to see what the Scoob/EVO can do,they dont see cars like ours getting booted everyday, most of forget that we can do it all the time whenever we want, also no matter what anybody says we have all got a bit of show off in us!!!!!

PS 21 to go!!!!!,looking for any reason now!!

Not behind me, but parallel and was giving it some. Stopped at lights on dual carriageway, absolutely hammered him to around 70 - then chilled out. It was 3rd gear on the scoob that pipped it.

Mines a 99, decat, Tek 2.

I'll get flamed for this, but I found it quite funny anyway as it was a back to front of this thread..........

Picture me and my mate in his honda civic R (bear in mind he part owns a turbo tuning company which is quite well known), P Reg Classic with STI spoiler, prodrive exh. etc boots it to within milimeters of the boot, pulls out into fast lane, levels with my mate looks at him with a smile and then my mate winds up the boost to full on the Garat T-5 he had fitted to the civic... You have to laugh as you picture this bloke sitting in the fast lane looking left and smiling with no other traffic in the slow lane but a poor old honda pulling away !

Hmm I had a CTR follow me a few days ago round the local twisties then onto a duel carriageway, couldnt shake me tho. Could tell the guy was a bit grumpy. Pulled up next to me wound his window down and said:

'Women should'nt be allowed in a proper car'......and...'...when I get my supercharger, you just wait....'

Needless to say I did'nt make him his dinner when we got home.

BMW's seem to be prone to this, they look at my little old J reg shed and think it's a non turbo all tarted up, bit of a mistake really....As the new M3 found out 2 days ago on the M45

Cheers

Simon

btw - I agree that the young guys in the hatches just want to see you go for it

ever thought some of the boy racer cars that sit on your bumper actually believe they have a chance of keeping up/beating you???

scoobs aint the be all and end all in the performance stakes u know.... I own a little renault 5 that should pi55 on my scooby when I bring it back on the road, running another renault 5 at the mo which is not that far from std. slight boost increase and exhaust and I get more satisfaction from driving that, the scooby might actually be quicker in a straight line on my std 5 but the other modded 1 should give as good as it gets

My girlfriend has a fiesta zetec s and it's no sport at all, must buy her a real car like a CTR or a focus RS to make it more fun

As an ex beemer driver ( 330i company car) I have to say they are the worst, far more of a problem than the neds in novas.

If it aint your'e car and NCB then trashing the car and taking outrageous risk has no financial impact.

Now I just let them go.... not worth the ££ cost if anything happened.

It's not only the hot hatch drivers who tailgate! I used to own a Nova a while back...2.0 16V and modded to ~190BHP (power to weight ratio of over 250BHP/Tonne). It looked the part with wide arch Rally-X kit, bucket seats, harnesses, coil-overs and Saph Cossie brakes. Had this poor WRX sat on my **** in a 30 zone just before a dual carriageway. I let him pull side by side as we came onto the dual carriageway before leaving him for dead - he gave a sheepish wave when I slowed down and let him catch up and pass. I have since bought a Scooby as it is a far more capable car in all weather conditions....the Nova was a handful to control, often still lighting up the front tires in 4th gear at 100+mph in the dry! .
