Also if you go by government figures and the BMI stats then Jonny Wilkinson is overweight, Pincent and Redgrave are overweight.
I couldn't let this go by without trotting out these figures for the billionth time:

Cost to the NHS of smoking/smokers = 1.5 billion (and reducing each year)

Cost to the NHS of obesity = 3.5 billion (and increasing each year)

And what medical condition causes people to get fat?

You get fat because you consume too much food/drink, however small that amount may be. If there is a medical condition that makes you fat even if you eat one lettuce leaf a day I'd be amazed. I suspect these "medical" conditions are referring to a mental problem - the inability to stop stuffing your greedy face.

Neither is horrible or racist.

6'7" and 110 kg (way to fat, so shoot me).

Oh, and I happen to like Dawn's work *very* much. I doubt anyone on here can create humour like she does. Not even close. If any "export" product of the UK is still worth it, she's certainly key. I don't care is she is feminist, fat, whatever, she is a mastermind, unlike most of the grumpy people on this thread

So I don't bloody care if she will be a liability to the NHS. My country picks up NHS patients for free anyway, so stop being so anally retentive.

Pah

Lenny has already done something about it. Got it on with someone else he could manage without a harness.
LMFAO!!!!

shes fat and thats a fact! whichever way you wanna dress it up (using the material from a marquee probably).

What has always puzzled me is people who are slightly overweight get called fat *******s and the **** taken out of em, extremely overweight people dont well thats something I have observed.

anyway its not she eats too much it's her glands isnt it?

You couldn't let figures go with out a childish p!ss take. And to think my councellor was trying to tell me that adults are more mature. Clearley not in your case. One day I may find somewhere I can have a discussion without the childish comments.

There is a medical condiction. It's the thyroid gland. You go either way, skinny or put on weight. It's helped with tablets but not very well.

Cool. I got the health risks that I wanted to see. Considering the millions and millions of people there are in the US I wouldn't say 280,000 is an awfull lot.
But am happy that something is being done.

For the record I am 6'4 and 25 stone. I currently go to the gym 4 times a week doing intense cardio 3 times a week with lean muscle training and fat burning. The other is dedicated to fat burn and fat muscle training. This has been taken in advise with an Ex Marine PT instructure who is fully qualified.

5'6" and 175lbs - still got a bit to lose before I'll be happy.

I was a typical skinny Brit before I moved to the USA seven and a half years ago; ballooned up over 220lbs and was in total denial about it until I got on someone else's scales one day.

Cashed in the reality check, started improving my diet and getting more exercise and I'm a lot happier and healthier for it - these are lifestyle choices we all get to make.

Bonkers.

Just wanted to say something about the state of PE in schools...

Part of the problem is the training that many primary school teachers get. Remember that a primary school teacher is meant to teach across the curriculum. If you do not have P.E, as your specialist subject, you are lucky to get 10 sessions telling you how to teach the subject! You then find that much of this is theory, and not practise. You then learn while on teaching practise, which, if you're lucky gives you about 20 P.E lessons before you qualify. After that, you're on your own, and learn from books and through teaching.
I met a teacher the other day who has just qualified, and (as a supply teacher) was taking her first ever unaccompanied P.E. lesson. (Before you are qualified, you have to be supervised because of health and safety reasons.). She confessed to me that she was pertrified, as she'd ONLY EVER HAD 4 SESSIONS ON HOW TO TEACH P.E. DURING A 4 YEAR TEACHING COURSE!!!

I er, seem to spot a problem with this!

Rachael

overweight, not so happy with it!

Childish or not, what I said is still true. Even with a thyroid gland condition, it is still not possible to get fat if you eat nothing, because fat is created from food.

For the record, I had no idea whether or not you were overweight, my comments were directed at fat people in general.
