Well basically it's not just them per se, it's the whole self-important redneck pantomime that is U.S. RAWK.... I like British music; new wave stuff and weird stuff like Radiohead. And U.S. Music of quality. Like Pixies, Nirvana, etc. I hate bands that have nothing to say to me, bands that don't spring from a background or life experience that I can identify with. Bands like G 'n' R don't seem honest to me... they just seem to rehash clichés that were worn out two generations before.

that was ok, nothing amazing, a couple of good tracks but not quite gnr standard.

no idea what i done with that cd.

there was also an album released by gilby clarke the rythm guitarist (not the original gnr one) which was pretty good.

Cool

Another vote for Rocket Queen here

Shame Axl's gone all 'pop diva' would be great to see them tour again. Never rated Matt Sorum though, he's a session plodder at best, Adler was inspired at times I'm not sure whether it was because, or in spite of columbia's finest export tho'

Quite agree, but TBH it was better than the iterations the Stones themselves were cranking out on stage during the 70's

Always thought they were a bit of nothing special really.

But, I've been playing "Sweet Child..." in one of my bands, and the ladeez do lurve the long guitar solos I get to play in it. So I think a bit more of 'em these days.

Geoff's told me to say that they're toss, again. And I have to admit that I agree.

Yes the band were toss but they did make some good music. Appetite is an album you can stick in the player and listen from start to finish without skipping a track - not too many of those.

How true I can only think of three others that I own, out of 1k+ that I can do that with:

Oasis - Definitely Maybe
Oscar Peterson - Night Train
Faithless - Reverence

Even The Stone Roses doesn't achieve this distinction And none of The Beatles, The Stones, Led Zep, nor Elvis managed a single LP without a minimum of TWO terrible fillers on - and they were considerably shorter

sorry but nirvana/radiohead in the same sentence as quality just don't work!
personally i dont want to hear about how they got famous in their own songs i want to hear what they think of the subject they are singing about. take civil war at the end he says "whats so civil about war anyway" and he's right what is civil about it just makes me think a bit more than a drugged up cobain singing "come as you are"
