Wouldnt bother me one bit... Only problem would be if the vigilante daily sport readers decided to take the law into their own hands... Wouldnt want people petrol bombing my next door neighbours house!!
But as she didnt kill anyone and is no threat to children etc I wouldnt care either way if she was placed in my town...

Maxine Carr doesn't come close.
I don't think Maxine Carr realised what she was being asked when providing the alibi - she wasn't even in the area so certainly knew nothing about what had happened.
And rescinded the alibi when she knew what was going on.
So, if she lived nearby - wouldn't worry me.

I think you're confusing the Police with the Press.

In a way I feel sorry for the stupid girl, it would appear she believed her *** of a boyfriend when he told her he had nothing to do with it.
She was away at the time of the murders. Once she realised what he was like she did give all the evidence requested of her .........
Sad, but live next door? I dont think so.

I would have no problem with Maxine Carr living next door to me. She did the right thing when she realised Huntley was guilty, and did her time without complaint or appeal. There are plenty of women in this country who refuse to prosecute and stand by their husbands/boyfriends when they commit acts of terrible abuse on them or their kids, yet the press do not seem to think this is as newsworthy.
I would have a bigger problem living next door to Blind C*nt Blunkett, whose department's own failings in the Soham case have been deftly swept under the carpet
Or, an employee of the self appointed 'Spanish Inquisition' that is News International, to whom no depths are too low in the almighty quest for sales figures![Mad](images/smilies/mad.gif)

They say Love is blind. She will have her relationship with this monster and a blind act of stupidity and naevity hang over her for the rest of her waking moments. The papers villified her because they couldn't get to Huntley (he's in for life).
She is a pretty face and that sells papers (look at the weekly coverage still, 7 years after the death of Princess Diana)
Loads of mistakes made on all sides but the papers need to be taken to task on this one.
They are looking for an increase in their sales at the end of the day, they have no morals and thus forfeit the right to preach!.
And as far as i'm concerned, I've got 2 daughters similar in age to those girls and it wouldn't fuss me if she was living in the same street.

If I remember correctly, she backed Huntley initially because he was her man, but when she realised he was likely to have done it she changed her stance.
I feel that the tabloid press should be ashamed of hounding her for their own selfish purposes and should let her get on with her life. She is certainly not in the same league as the evil Myra Hindley in the Moors Murder case. I also object to the immense cost involved in having to protect her.

The courts established that she wasn't privy to his involvement in the girls dissapearance or subsequent murders.
She was away in Grimsby when he committed the murders, and she did what most partners would do in those circumstances IMO.
She sincerely believed that he was going to be unjustly persecuted.
The redneck lynch mob mentality is alive and well

Is it really fair to judge anyone based on what we read in the papers? I'd hate to be judged in a trial by media. We know the "facts", twisted and presented in the way the media wants. Who knows what she's like - she could be a saint, she could be sad and vulnerable or she could be a very warped and twisted individual. Depends what the press want us to think.

some sensible comments made, im surely surprised.
I must admit I had listened to what people had said rather than the facts, as for the sun lnych mob etc, I have to admit, 100% truthfully I cant ever remember putting my hand in my pocket and ever buying a newspaper of any calibre. they just dont appeal to me. Ive bought the add mag for the motor section if that counts?![Norty](images/smilies/norty.gif)
