"So if we Impreza drivers are "chavs", what make and model do you drive and what does it make you?
Going by your (out of order) comment, you obviously have each marque's driver pigeon-holed so accurately??"

he never said the drivers were chavs...he said chavs love them- and he's right.

How long have you been sheeing her for? may be time for a new model, and I'm not talking about chopping in the Astra
New model, job done.. unless she is able to redeem her self in ways which outway the value of the car.. infact get the car anyway.... shes allready starting to moan.. bad sign.

Ideal alternative:-

Seat Leon Cupra ( 180bhp ) or Cupra R ( 210 or 225bhp model )
VAG made car, all gadgets, gizmos, refeinments as standard.
1.8 20VT engine, not a major gas guzzler.
Looks very sporty, drives great.

and if need be, for the sake of £500, you could always get it re-mapped and add an extra 30 / 40bhp.

Go for a 200sx, S14a.

Cool looking cars with plenty of power behind them.

Having the same sort of problem, girlfriend scared to drive the scooby thinks its to quick for her, she drove it a couple of weeks ago and finds it difficult to drive, clutch to hard etc, she now wants me to sell the scoob and get a Vauxhall Tigra , yeah right.

Lol at Impreza being ugly. Remember boys in the case of an Impreza form follows function. Im a Girl, not a chav and could not give a fek what other ppl think. As for Impreza being a 'chav' car who cares. So what if a burberry hat wearing french cropped kid wants to drive one good for him. If ppl then see him in a scooby and then automatically think all scooby owners are chavs mournfull them.

I love my Scooby, enjoy driving it and feel safe in it in all weathers, It is because I am not Peta Solberg that I like the security and ease of driving the car. Yet it does have power when I need it.

Having said that I understand what Talizman says, I have worked my way 'up' to the scooby from a we Fiesta 1.1 to an MR2 and lots inbetween. So It is wise to get experience befoer stepping into a car where the power can come on very quickly.

I am only 26 and feel lucky to be able to drive a car like an STI at my age. The majority of guys I see seem pretty impressed with my choice. I also like the waves from other Scooby drivers.

As for a we runabout for the lady couldnt agree more get her a we Fiesta, or a Mitsubishi Colt. If she wants a go in a Scooby I'll take her out I am sure i can change her mind

im not saying impreza drivers are all chavs. How would your average chav afford one? (unless he stole it of course).

My post is to do with the female perception of imprezas. And for your average lady, they absolutley hate them. As stated, they see them as gross, ugly, especially the blue with gold wheels (yughh!) combo.

No, imprezza DRIVERS are not chavs. Their a diffrerent breed, I do see alot of middle aged men driving about like lunatics in them though. Midlife crisis? or small *****?

What makes you associate the term chav with someone having little or no money?
There are some extremely rich chavs out there. Money has no bearing on ones "chaviness"

Sweeping generalisation there matey to say that "the average lady hates Imprezas"....
Where did you come up with this? Have you did some kind of survey or something?

I guess it depends on how u define a chav. Where I come from a chav is a little ******, with his burberry cap, his stripey top, who hangs around in supermarket car parks with his fellow chavs, in their bad boy saxos/novas etc. I don't associate these low lifes with having a great deal of money. Certainly not enough to buy and insure an impreza for instance.

Well, ALL the women I have ever spoken to hate them. Thats not just a couple, thats a lot. The general female opinion I have encountered is they hate em. "Ugly, Evil! Bound to be knicked and used in a ram raid" (see modern day Sierra Cosworth).

do a search on here mate and you'll get a better idea of what the general concensus of the term "chav" is, as opposed to what "your opinion" of what a chav is.

You'll see that chavs can have more money than you and I.

LMAO.
What a load of tosh!

I don't recall EVER hearing negative things said about the Impreza by the fairer sex!

Certainly turns more heads than any other car I've owned, and for the right reasons!

Like I said, depends on how its defined. I DO know the type of person you mean though. Where I come from, the boy racer/chav line is very blurred.

Yep it turns heads ok, but not for the reason you think. More like, "Jesus, THATS UGLY". Don't make a fool of yourselfe and claim the Impreza is a nice looking car? Hahahahahahahahahah!!!!!!!

It is true that most birds who like the Impreza are normally "featured" showing their Jugs in the back of Max Power. And also have 19" chrome ear rings.

The classic shape scoob is great and I love it, but it currently has a similar image to a Calibra Turbo with 20" rims and a Peco big bore. Its fact, and unfortunate...
