I'm a scotsman living in America, so does that make me an understanding Scottish mods or one of the tight assed non-scottish mods?
Seriously, I don't think it has anything to do with where a Mod comes from, us mods have a set of rules to go by, and whether we agree with them or not, we have to abide by them (or at least appear to ). I'm glad to see that we are going to be reviewing the function of the "events" forums, because they are so, so much more than that.

Please bear with us, but threads of this nature whether you are a starter or contributor are not helping the issue so I would appreciate if these ceased.

Lots of stuff gets sold on Snet. It seems a fairly safe place to buy and sell ( compared with E bay for example). I guess most buyers still might want to see in the flesh the DV, back box, defi's whatever, and also save on postage.
They could also ask the owner questions, talk scooby, you know ...the stuff we all share in common.
Sellers would also be happier cause it's a pain packing stuff up, posting it cashing cheques etc.
Why not let people stick in on the Scottish, Northern, Southern, Welsh whatever board for a while, then if no one locally is interested that person can self moderate it onto the general for sale boards ?
Those who want to go straight to the general boards for a wider audience can still do so.
Clearly my suggestion is open to any of the regional boards to adopt this practice, so it isn't one rule for Scots, and another for the rest.
Discuss.
Stiks.

An understanding of how a section functions is necessary IMHO.
Stuart, you did live here and I'm sure your attention returns the your 'home' forum more than anywhere else.
Markus, I don't want any special 'rules' but as a whole the bbs could benefit from more relaxed moderation.
The administrators and moderating team will discuss these issues in due course.
