Finding the poll result worrying. If my neighbour/friend/relative decides to follow Islam, then so be it. Who cares. It's their choice, and nothing to do with me. It is ignorance & media-guided scaremongering which makes people in the UK/USA so jingoistic and unelightened.
Can we please differentiate religion from terrorism. They are not linked. Religion is the easy excuse given for terrorism.
The trouble with religion is that anything can be read & interpreted from the books (the Bible, the Koran) to influence/justify acts of terrorism. One person's interpretation could be different to anothers. One can easily read anything into a book of words.
Terrorists are just evil bullies, who are using religion as justification for their actions.

It's not just terrorists that use religion as justification for their actions.
I would say 50% of people world wide use it, because it is a fear of the unknown!

"True" Muslims do not kill anyone. It's against their religion.
Fundamentalist, jump on the religion band wagon and preach ****.
Each to their, own so long as they are not causing harm to others.
Why don't you educate yourself a bit further, who knows, you may double your IQ to 6, you muppet.

I'm pretty certain if you don't get baptised you're meant to end up playing with the devil and not strumming on a cloud. Most religions like to put some fear into people to get them to sign up, after all most of them began when folks weren't quite as sophisticated or as literate as now.

But for me, the million moderate European muslims condemning the few extremists are conspicuous by their total and utter silence. If they don't stand up and be counted and show themselves as decent Europeans, then there isn't too much hope...

Ok whos going to start the religion is evil debate??
Look at it this way, it doesnt matter who/what/where you are, religion has always been the number 1 cause of wars, just look at the crusades, WW1, the Bosnian conflict to name a few... the sooner we dump it the better. (anyone else come up with a debate on this? )

82% think Islam in Britain is a bad thing? Shocking...seems the propaganda has worked a treat (unfortunatley).
I'm no musilm nor am I against any race or religion and as such I vote 'good'. Makes me wonder what type of person votes 'bad'?
Badly constructed question.

Check your history books folks, there is nothing new under the sun. Islam is no worse (or better) than any other religion. Everything goes in cycles, 1000 years ago it was the european catholics who were the fundamentalists and the arab and asian moslems who were the open-minded visionary ones. after a millenium of pillaging and raping our way across every major land mass on this planet, we europeans are now merely reaping that which we have sown. Until the American Government realises that it does not have an automatic right to interfere in the running of any country that takes it's fancy, and the people of the UK realise they DO still have a backbone, nothing will change, except maybe to get worse.

'Lord Shrek, you are a tw@t. We need more idiots like you stirring up racial hatred, just what the country / world needs.'
He's simply put a poll up Buck Rogers. Where's the racial hatred in this? You're the stupid muppet
If someone put up a poll saying do we need Christinity, is that classed as racial hatred too?

Besides Turbohot is Indian, not Pakistani, the history between India and Pakistan is a little fraught to say the least, they hardly best buddies, which just adds insult to injury. On top of all this, the British colony which ruled over much of the world at one time, looked down upon the "natives" and that's how such connetations to words arose, used with distain and no effort made to distinguish as they just didn't care, they were all lumped together as the lower classes

I haven't voted, but I do think Islam is bad in Britain, but no more so than Judaism, Hinduism, Shinto, Buddism, Christianity and any other religion you care to metion.

England should remain a Protestant state. If you wish to practise other religions fine but religion and Politics should be kept apart.
In 300 years all religion will be a laughing stock anyway. The things people used to believe 200 years ago is laughed at now....and in 200 years time people will be laughing at what some of us believe.
Science will, in the end prove all religion to be a load of bollox.

Ah, but *when*, AP?
Science has proved the fallacy of religion to within an inch of its life, but there will *always* be people who will believe, even if the final piece of the jigsaw can be proved over and over again. Some humans, and indeed some cultures *need* religion....

Well Christianity has been going a couple of millenia, and other religions considerably more, I don't see it dissapearing any time soon.
Science cannot disprove "God", the burden of proof is upon the claimant. Religion however, has as yet, failed to provide and convincing evidence to suggest the existence of a god. But people continue to belive it. They always will. It is about faith, and in the case of religion, blind faith. The belivers do not need any proof, they just belive blindly, and hoodwink other innocents in to accepting their belief as "Sceince can't explain the origins of the universe, so it MUST have been god". I agree science can't explain it...YET. But even when science does come up with the answers, people will still want to belive, people don't want to accept that when they die, it's the end.

There will be a time when science proves everything. In a long long time when we can understand it.
So, with that said. I won't be here so who gives a ****. Lets all have fun. Religion is bollox.

That aside, my point was a serious one, you can't actually prove or disprove anything. You most certainly can't disprove the existence of something. This because while you may have searched very hard for "it" you can't possibly have looked everywhere. On the otherhand, to prove its existence requires that 1 is found and shown to a few people Job's a good 'un.
However, as stated before, proof is still not an absolute, it is just that the more times an experiment is performed to confirm a hypothesis and the same result is acheived, the more confident we are. You can never be absolutely sure, but you can be pretty damn close, that is when something becomes "scientific fact". It is still subject to change, but our confidence is sufficiently high that it is correct that we can use it as a stepping stone towards better understanding.
