I bought it through TSB Car select, its a uk dealer supplied car but is bought through the fleet section so didn't have the free servicing offer. Even taking into account (£750) the cost of servicing it worked out nearly £1k cheaper than i could get any of my local dealers down to

Has most dealers got them in stock or would you have to shop around to find the last remaining WRX's ??

Cheers
From what I hear the compound had (as of about 2 weeks ago) over 700 WRX sitting their waiting to be sold. While I am sure there are more popular colours than others waiting there, there should at least be some choice. I imagine good deals are to be had now, as IM will be pushing them onto dealers to flog them off. Any dealer can look on their car locator to see if it's at the 'factory' rather than at a dealers anywhere, so they should be able to find most. I've also heard that there are more 4 door than 5 door's there, and very few SL's if any, but this could be hearsay.

No problem fella. More news as well. My dealer just phoned me to tell me my MY05 is being delivered by IM to him tomorrow (Friday 24) so obviously both STi's and WRX are in the country, which means they will be pushing even more to get rid of the old stock, of which there are definately some left. If you are flexible with colour, I bet you could pick up a bloody good deal on one of the MY04's with free servicing if you act fast. Would be great...

There's a 3D flash thingy on Subaru Japan's website : Click here for the 4-door (albeit without the rear spoiler) and here for the wagon.

Not yet - the dealer had it delivered to his compound, and they are delivering it to me Tuesday week (the first they can get it delivered) and because it may as well as October registration. But it apprently has a single exhaust pipe, which doesn;t make mush difference really as a PPP will be fitted which kind of negates any change! Great!

Just to let you guys know I've just bought an MY05 wagon (WR Blue) .. not much discount (didn't pay for metallic) but did get free servicing on MY05 (will be registered before 30th Sept) and 10K for a trade in on MY00 wagon.

Haven't seen it so can't confirm single pipe, 6 speakers etc though

Fellas

Just to let you know I have just had my car confirmed with the dealer (MY05 5-door SL) which has now arrived at his dealership and is arriving with me next Tuesday 5 Oct. It is the new grey (which he says looks the nuts) and he confirmed many things, but did say that it still has a twin pipe and does NOT have the single pipe. So some of the things we have seen are there.

I also know that for the MY05 model, apprently they cannot be shown too much as the dealers have to sell the MY04 models first (naturally) and that although my car could have been registered by the end of Sept, the 3 year free servicing deal does not apply to MY05 (which is why they changed their website to say MY04 model years). Avalyn - you did well if indeed it is confirmed. Then again, I also heard that discounts on the MY05 have been cut in half, so the discount I got my car for means the dealer has lost money as it was agreed before Subaru announced prices (although stayed the same) and discounts - thus the dealer loses out. But I don;t, and it's worth more than the £750 servicing is. Cannot wait until Tuesday to see a car in a colour I have never even seen.

I have not heard about 6 speakers though - but will post pics next Tuesday when the car comes and will be here to naswer any questions on MY05. And yes, it does apparently have the red painted brake calipers which will look - interesting!

mightvid .. another wagon owner ... would have liked the new grey but pleased with WR blue.

Dealer told me that as long as the car was registered before 30th Sept. it qualified for free servicing. I asked multiple times and have told them that's what swung the deal ..without it I wasn't signing anything .. go figure _

I was hoping they'd changed the twin pea shooters so a bit disappointed they are still there .. don't want more noise a big single just looks nicer ... does the STi BB fit i.e. no performance difference just looks better?

Dealer has confirmed red brake calipers too ... will find out on Saturday.

Great news that man - my original order was WR Blue but I decided to chnage to be different. Sounds like dealer may have just swung it someway - but as there was no discount, it makes sense. My MY05 still got me £1850 discount which means the dealer actually loses out, so I am still more than happy. Confirmed red calipers. Not sure what else to see... roll on Sat for you...

mightyvid,

I've replied in my other thread but I hope we've both got great deals. At the end of the day sounds like the dealer didn't make too much money from us

I know that my dealer had 3 sales left to make to make their targets for the month so maybe that's why they've said they'll give me the free servicing .. I've spoken to the sales guy today (twice) and they need insurance details for the new car and need them with tomorrows date for registering it for free service

I can only wait and see if the dealers pulled a fast one. I suppose they all have to make a buck, you got a good discount, I got free servicing?

Good luck with your car. I'll post up on Monday what changes it actually has.

Avalyn.
p.s. Pah to the twin pea shooters

Latest breaking news

Just phoned sales guy a bit concerned, he has now admitted that free servicing applies to MY04 models only ... it's in the small print in the memorandum that was sent to dealers .. so mightyvid you are in fact being told the truth .. I'm not ... however my whole deal will fall through if my car does not have free servicing.

After I signed on the dotted line, salesman sees mistake but had been told by his boss that free servicing applied to any car registered before 30th ..... so boss has to do some grovelling to head office and it has been agreed/confirmed that I'll get what I was told ...

So .... I feel a bit unique .. I may be the only person in the country with an MY05 that gets the free servicing deal

OK so your discount more than covers the 750 or whatever quid it saves me but I don't have bills every year to pay .... swings and roundabouts seems to be a phrase that comes to mind

Good luck with your car.

Indeed my firend. Hopefully we have both won, and sounds like we'll both be happy. I've sorted my insurance out so it's just the PDI to be done and then it goes ton the back of a low loader to be deleivered (for free) to my house - given the dealer is some 160 miles away from me, not a bad deal for this either. I just wanna see what it looks like and drives like.
WHo cares about twin pipes - that's what PPP s for... and lalready booked the stereo company to put my h/u and speakers in to replace what I know will be a crappy standard unit

I did!!!! I was hoping to avoid any obvious mods (and avoid incurring the wrath of my insurer) but alas I'll be on the market for an STI backbox after all! I'm waiting to find out what price my broker can get - but if the worst comes to the worst I'll sell privately and go the Litchfield route too!

Sorry chap - no offense meant. Understand what you are saying, have you tried L&V given they offered a decent price for me £100 more expensive than the cheapest I could get) but given they allow mods (and trackdays I am told) it would work out cheaper in the long run. Andy

dietbruboy.

I'm in the same position as you ..... I'll add PPP when I can afford it but for the meantime will keep the car standard .... if you look at the pdfs from Prodrive for a PPP'd car the main difference is at low revs/more flexibility. Screaming through the gears there not much difference ..

Standard 0-60 5.5 0-100 15.9 so 60-100 = 10.4
PPP 0-60 4.8 0-100 14.1 so 60-100 = 9.3

So it's about 1 second quicker 60-100 .... not a lot on give and take B-roads.

I'd have liked the single pipe purely for asthetics. Does the standard STi pipe fit? Wont be any performance difference (negligible) so insurance friendly _ and will look much nicer .... probably plenty lying around from PPP'd STi's so cheap

It does look nicer, sound nicer and is er, mmm... nicer! My cousin Zerolight bought a nearly-new one off Ebay (exactly as you describe - the previous STI owner upgraded) and it looks the business. Not too noisy either, just a nice rumble off it. I'd hoped to avoid the agro from my insurers, Admiral, but it'll probably cost me £50 a year more max. All I need now is a price for a MY05 from my brokers, which they should have next week. The currently get 11% off the new (04MY) Legacy so fingers crossed we get something similar...
