AFAIK he offered them accomodation - in separate rooms. Where's the problem? Since when is it a legal right to be able to 'bum' someone in a complete strangers house?

Yep. Prejudice like this goes on all day every day, not just in B&Bs but in offices and factories up and down the country. The B&B guy just made the mistake of explaining his reasons - most people who feel the same way as him keep their mouth shut, for fear of prosecution!! He won't do it again!

Probably not ; but good on him for saying it.

"I don't want 2 gay men in my house"

He was honest - Ooooohhhh, PC doesn't do honest!! It does "saying the right thing".

Nobody can say anything anymore.

HE HASN'T DONE ANYTHING WRONG.

I'm prepared to be corrected here - i honestly don't know the law regardnig somebody else's property. Even so, they didn't explicitly state that they were going to have sex, did they? Sure, they probably *were* going to, but the law doesn't see it like that!

Surely if the landlord took their money and allowed this he would technically be running a gay brothel.

Well the implication is there. Otherwise why would they be upset at having a room each?

No, in your *opinion* he hasn't, but to the law he has, by telling them why he's refusing them joint accomodation. Lobby your MP if you think gays should be denied the same services as yourself!!!

Read my previous posts please sir.

All I'm doing is defending the rights of a man, in his house, on his property. I am NOT slating gays at all....except my first post but that was just a joke as I didn't think this would become a serious debate.

Looks like the old landlord can't win. Whatever he does he'd be breaking some law or other.

The technicality we're all arguing about then, is whether a B&B is classed as a business in the same way as any other company. If a hotel chain did this, they'd have their @rse sued! Whether a B&B is subject to the same laws i assume none of us are expert enough to comment...

i wouldn't let old people stay because they smell of wee and tcp,is there a law about smellism?Cos if not there should be,all the poor smelly people that need more rights to do the things that people that don't smell can do(where does this pc thing ever end)

This was all a joke by the way,and if you are offended its tough

But i still don't see whats so wrong with being able to say what you like,if someone offends me it's tough,i get over it and so should others...i know my rights yawn yawn yawn... you can't say that blah blah. I can and i did so stop moaning and get on with your life

That's like saying Harrods is Mr Fayed's house, on a bigger scale!! Scale (probably) has nothing to do with it, if you're running a business for the public...
