good answer and good advice, I could definately support her and im sure she could ammuse herself while i wasn't there. We made alot of mutual friends when i was over there so this could well be an option.

i know she would definately go for it... i suppose im being a bit pessimistic in thinking things won't work out and that she will get bored!! or maybe i just don't feel for her what i thought i did!! cos if i did i think i'd be willing to get hitched!

Everyone who's said " you know when its right" does that mean you were willing to marry her at that point? or that you just knew this person was someone you wanted to be with for a long time?

Hmmm....I think you should go to the USA without her. You're 24, you know you don't want to marry her, and basically it would cause a load of stress trying to get her out there with you. IMO It's inevitable you will split up, so you should go without her!

Rags, I was with my GF for five years on and off while we were in 3 different continents (Asia, Europe and America), and I always swore I wouldn't marry her as it didn't feel right.

I married her 3 yrs ago and have been very happy since.

It's a funny old world.

I disagree with weapon69 - take the option I've suggested and she's free to leave / be dumped any time.
