Same thing done to chavers in the following cars who have wanted some of my @ss
Cupra R
CLK 320
172
Renault 5 GT Turbo
Nova 1.3i
Focus RS
Focus 170
Fiesta Turbo
BMW Z3
BMW Z4
BMW 330ci
lol I never get tired of it either!
I know this bears no relevance to the subject of the topic being a standard uk apparently getting beaten by a ClioSport but in a dog eat dog world there is always a big daddy ready to come and beat the **** out of the punks who get on the case of his younger brothers

Senior ... if I went into listing the big boys cars I have had little blats with on my 6000 miles so far people would not believe me.
Although I now know that my next car, after the WR1, will be a Noble GTO 4R as that completely destroyed me.

I really hate the word Chav ..... It is often used to refer to someone in a car which people feel is inferior to theirs....I wonder if the guy in the 172 calls nova owners chavs .........and i wonder if the guy in the Nova calls mini owners chavs?
Come and play round the ''ring'' gangsta and I will wipe the smile off ya face in me punk / chav peugeot

Lets remember that the performance figures for these cars are created by someone sat at 6000 rpm in the scoob and dropping the clutch and the same in the Cup but at around 4000 RPM........I seriously doubt this sort of thing is something we would do very often if at all.
It didn't matter what I did to my old 183BHP clio and for how long it would not deliver less than 28-30 MPG. I then test drove a 03 WRX with the thought of changing. For what was an extra £8,000 (new price against new price) it really didnt feel much different performance wise, and certainly would have cost alot more to run. The STi is a different animal it must be said, but even so I wouldn't bet against a Cup driver when faced with an STi around a medium speed circuit.
Underestimate one of these little pocket rockets at your peril I say.......remember it takes a seriously more powerful car to overtake and pull away from any hot hatch.........I destroyed a 172 clio / Astra / type R usually translates to i pulled away from it a car length in 1/2 mile.

gansta ...... What is a chav then? someone in an inferior car in your opinion? Are we therefore considered Chavs by porsche owners?
Am I not a chav when I drive my scoob but when i drive the horrible stickered 205 I am one? can't get my head round the whole Chav thing?
If it is someone who comes and sits behind you trying to get you to race then im sure you are one too coz in your own words you will race anything and never get bored???
How does it work???
Oh and I am one coz i played with a 911 turbo on the way to Billing sunday

You cannot dispute the fact that the two Scoobies got beat good and proper by the Clio, why is this so hard for you to understand?
No one is saying that all Clio's beat Impreza's, but the fact remains that this Clio did beat 2 different Scoobs fair and square.
This is not the early 90's where the Impreza was the fastest thing on the road, this is now 2004 where 200bhp is almost becoming common.
Change the record.

I reckon if the driver of the Clio was in the Imprezas and the Impreza driver in the diminutive French pocket rocket I bet we'd have seen a different result though.
Fair play though either way the Clio is one quick little car.

Got let loose in mummy's mk2 172 at the weekend and it "felt" slow compared to mine (my99, decat, tek3, 260 bhp/252 Ib/ft etc).
It would though wouldn't it! However i would think that if i was behind the 172 on a country lane, there would be no going past it and i'm sure it would do a half decent job of hanging onto my bumper if it was behind
I was trying to gauge if i could take the drop to a 172 or similar due to being fed up with the running costs of the Scoob. I'm not sure i can TBH Like i said - point to point it probably ain't much slower, but for me, it's the whole feel of the scoob that gives the real impression of speed
Next on the list to try out is an elise

really though i had a test drive 1 hour in a cup and after getting out of my then 330i it felt...... well.... slow really! especialy on the mway... like i said 80 and it just didnt respond...
I can also remember testing the Sti and thinking... jees this feels quick... this missus thought the same too.
Clio top little sports car... but for real grin factor the scoobs do the all round job...
forgot to add...
I'd look silly in a tartan basball cap, collar up, with the seat as far back and low as it goes with my head just poking above the window, looking through ugly bloke tints and starting to inherit a complete inabilty to drive!
