The point of the post was not to prove who's faster than who but a **** take at the lightly modded clio post. I've seen "lightly modded" mini's do 1/4s in low 10s.

I find it slightly strange people waving fingers from the high moral ground about what's right or wrong with one car vs another. It's one of the main reasons you'd decide on buying the car you have. Or making modifications to it.

Hats off to the guy who owns the Clio - he must be stoked. The same way a scooby owner would be stoked about ruffling the feathers of a 911 turbo owner.

We enter the A40 almost joined (I actually couldn't see the plate of his car!) To his credit he did stay with me for a little. But after a few seconds he must have been gagging on my Optimax fumes. Poor bugger.

Don't have the video to prove it but I do have the horsepower.

The Clio Cup that beat the WRX was mine, my dad owns a 210 Cupra R and I drive it more than my car (it being a company car - free servicing etc etc) and it has no where near the performance of my car.

@hugo

you may be right friend, but i don't come on here and bore everyone to death about it.

@scooby-si

yep m8, it is tho i find most big bikes don't even bother as they know what their machines can do (i.e. smoke 99.99% of car with no probs whatsoever)

cheers

dont understand this comment really. Although the statement is true, I fail to see how this is relevant to the targetted post......
Because someone earlier in the thread referred to a Leon owner as a 'chaver'

AmD have a nice little trick for the Leon R225.
Mid range go is awesome. and as for the handling comments to come flooding in.... has anyone watched the Cupra Challenge?

I dont own a Leon CupraR by the way.... but as the in Clio 182 it is a good package for the price. And Very Tunable for alot less than a Subaru.

Not sure what the point is here?

lightly modded sti eats 210bhp Seat Leon Cupra!!!

so you have more bhp hmmm so I would be suprised if you didn't ... are you sure it was a 210bhp cupra R not a 225bhp cupra R or a boggo 180bhp cupra ... could be worse for you if it was a 180bhp coz it should not of stayed with you. How did you now it was a 210bhp from the front ... what are the telltales then ... the r badge is only on the back.

do you have pictures of car crossed out on your side doors to show the number of defeated cars ????

I have gone from a classic my00 modded to about 260-280 to a 180bhp cupra and I am having more fun in the cupra, yes I miss the scoob, but it aint expensive, I am not worried were I park it, I can mod it for a lot lot less and I don't have to deal with the reputation of all the scoobs that are racing around. I have more fun without worrying that I am doing stupid speeds coz the scoob is so quick.

Ok you win .... guess what ... I don't care but perhaps I need to go out and bait a few scoob drivers so they can feel better about themselves ... call it a public service

MarkB is it an STi you drive? If so its to be expected every time as you do have considerable power advantage over a lcr be it 225 or 210. Maybe a revo'd,jabba'd etc lcr with around 260-270bhp and 280-300lb torque would be a closer match?.
I drive a LCR225 and would not expect to be able to keep up with an STi etc at present maybe once its chipped it will be different. As for you peeps with PPPs WR1s etc Lucky bu66ers!!

Either way I did have to smile reading the clio thread last night, 11+ pages! All of us have badge loyalty there have been similar threads on the SEAT forums and everyone springs to the brands defence so its the same everywhere. Theres always gonna be a faster than you think car who shows you a clean pair of heels.

As for chavs driving cupras or LCRs, I'm happy to say I have not seen any as yet. It will obviously happen when the prices start to dip but the same can be said for every manufacture. As soon as I start seing LCRs with neons and 23 big bore exhausts I'm gonna change! Might be able to afford a WR1 by then.....

PS Pls don't take this as a "upset SEAT driver" post just adding my two pence worth and happen to drive a SEAT! I love scoobys as much as the next man.

I dont care what u do i your home, but drinking large amounts of booze and smoking weed will result in mind altering affects and intermittent day dreaming. Especially when writing a post with one finger.

@wez_sti

mate they are OZ super turismos or SuperT's. i dont think they make them anymore, i think they have been replaced by the Superleggra though i still see car shops over here in Belfast selling superTs. must be old stock or summat. anyway they are a complete bastid to clean properly (too many spokes), but when they are clean they look superb. gold wheels on any other car would normally be fashion suicide but on an impreza they look great. i personally think the colour makes the car.

Default my disk is bigger than your dick

no need to apologise m8. my skin is thick and i take everything on here with a pinch of salt. i like wind ups and i just love these threads. there will always be someone faster i know that. i have had my *** smoked on numerous occasions, but i do it for the fun factor. now my car is not slow by any stretch of the imagination but i know for a fact that there are faster imprezas out there. the fact is that some ppls (and i do not single this thread out in anyway) bum and blow about what there cars have done, yet when it come to the crunch they don't want to race, or there is something wrong with the car, or i missed a gear or some other crappy excuse. get the cars on the 1/4 mile strip then we get the difinitive answer on whose car is faster. anyway i am rambling i am half tore, see you all at Ten of the Best3 where i hope (fingers, toes and anything else that will cross) i can break 12 second for the quarter mile.

Overtaking a leon cupra 210 is "like making love to a beautiful woman"

MAKING COFFEE

Making a cup of coffee is like making love to a beautiful woman.

It's got to be hot, you've got to take your time,

you've got to stir...gently, and firmly, you've got to grind
your beans until they squeak and then you

deposit your milk.

LAYING A CARPET

Laying a carpet is very much like making love to a beautiful woman.

You check the dimensions, lay her out on the floor, pin her
down and walk all over her. If you're adventurous - like me -
you might like to try an underlay.

HANGING WALLPAPER

Well, hanging wallpaper is also very much like making love to
a beautiful woman.

Clean all the relevant surfaces, spread her out on the
table, cover her with paste, and stick her up. Then you clean
your brush, light your pipe, stand back and admire your handiwork.

PUTTING UP A TENT

Putting up a tent, is very much like making love to a beautiful woman.

You rent her, unzip the door, put up your pole and slip into
the old bag.

WASHING A CAR

Washing a car, is very much like making love to a beautiful woman.
You've got to caress the bodywork, breathe softly and gently,
give every inch of it your loving attention and make sure
you've got a nice wet sponge.

BEING IN THERAPY

And yet having therapy is very much like making love to a
beautiful woman.

You get on the couch, string them along with some half-lie and
evasions, probe some deep dark holes, and then hand over all
your money.

BEING IN A CRASH

Going to the brink of death and back, in a nine car pile-up on
dual carriage way is very much like making love to a beautiful woman.

First of all brace yourself. Hold on tight - particularly if
it's a rear-ender and pray you make contact with her twin
airbags as soon as possible.

GOING FISHING

Of course as you know I'm a very keen fisherman myself. You
know I've often thought that going fishing was very much like
making love to a beautiful woman.

First of all, clean and inspect your tackle. Carefully pull
back your rod cover and remove any dirt or gunge that may have
built up whilst not in use. Then, extend your rod to its full
length and check that there are no kinks or any wear,
particularly at the base where the grip is usually applied.
Make sure you've got a decent float, the appropriate bait and
that there's plenty of shot in your bag.
