Trolls - amusing distractions or a waste of bandwith

The current Trolling is getting tiresome now.
Too much of the same old stuff !
In the good old days at least it was tricky to spot some of the trolling !
Time for a good old New Labour stylee witch hunt

I think it depends on the person and their intentions/posts is it lively banter and a bit of a wind-up or do they want to insult and ruin threads along with causing trouble.

Humorous, intelligent, original trolling (is that an oxymoron) is great to see. Soem of the best threads on here could probably be counted under that.
Ill-informed, ignorant, repetitive and abusive trolling is a pain in the proverbial and wastes bandwidth.
Trouble is, as has been pointed out already, it's a problem when someone joins in on a trolling thread and then gets their knuckles rapped. Especially if they are regulars and just getting into the swing of things when the thread gets locked. I'm glad I'm not a moderator...

I have spotted an Inverse Troll, someone who posts on a thread purely to calm others down, anyone else seen him ?
Anyone Daryl90 posting a picture of his own poo ?

What you've got is 'troll fatigue'.
Don't worry though a BBS has enough of an intake of fresh fish to provide good trawling for your above average friendly neighbourhood troublemaker.
