I usually filled up around 300 miles.
I think the key is, if you want it be rather economical it can be whereas a scoob will always be poor
If you blast everywhere then mid 20's will be the norm but if you need to save fuel then just keep out of vtec and you'll get over 30mpg. I got 46mpg on a 100 mile journey once in mine. boring journey though

so, as I said earlier.... S2000 it is then
Just to add, when I was looking I drove an S2000 and Impreza in the same week, the S2000 felt so much nicer than the Impreza, interior was classier, seats more comfortable, build quality was better and the noise was amazing.
Funny part was when I was alongside a Metro Turbo at the traffic lights and the dealer said "of course, its good for embarasing the boy racers" - how could I refuse ?!?!
Anyway, at the end of the week the Impreza had disappointed and the S2000 had made me smile more than any other car (perhaps the noise of a 355 excluded).
In my opinion, if you dont mind having just 2 seats its an easy choice!

when you take it out, make sure you drive it with and without the roof down regardless of the weather - some people find the S2 feels a bit small with the roof up (doesnt bother me though!).
My test drive was in April in the drizzle - good for showing off traction and also how warm you can stay with the roof down As mentioned somewhere in this thread, the GT is a bit pointless unless you live in a dodgy area or have ample space to keep the roof for 9 months of the year.
Try and get the dealer to throw in a tracker or road angel for free as there is little room for movement on the price of the car.

my mate went from an s2000 to an sti8 bloboye and wouldn't go back, think it is the torque and easyness of driving the scoob,i had a few goes in his s2000 and it was nice bt my old mx5 turbo drove and handled better and was just as quick.

Just noticed this thread.....
I am a complete Scooby addict but have now got an S2000. I had a MY98 sport in '99, then upgraded to a new MY00 Turbo with PPP. This was my ultimate car and I loved it to bits. However, after nearly 3 years with it I fancied a change.
I really considered getting an '03 STi but I wanted something different. Looked at Boxsters but eventually decided on the S2000 (I love Jap cars!). I've not looked back since. Its so much fun to drive and feels special on every journey. Take into account the looks and the fact you can get the roof down and it seems unbeatable value. Its also a bit cheaper to run. I can get over 30MPG on a motorway run, low 20s on normal B road driving and mid teens on the track. I used to get about 15-16 MPG out of the Scoob!
Tuning an S2000 is very expensive. I've got a HKS intake, manifold and cat back system which cost over 2 grand but delievers very little performance gain. However, the sound is now awesome!
Ultimately, Imprezas are quicker point to point over a B road as the damping and body control are far superior to the S2000. However, you would certainly be having lots of fun in the S2000 trying to keep up.
I've just bought a '92 Leggy Turbo which is why I've recently re-joined Scoobynet. Spose I couldn't keep away for too long!

Sounds good, could be tempted by one or a Boxster S one day, but I'm sticking with the Scoob for now. Enjoy
Did you trade the Scoob in? Noticed it in the for sale section.
