Getting close to the time to decide now. I *think* I've covered all the angles on the Audi, have had the finance provisionally accepted, just need to get insurance quote but being old, farty, clean license (how!?!) & with loadsa NCD, should be under £500.

However, the competition and my prefered steed is an XC70, which I'll be having on 24hr test drive on Monday - doing the same journey etc as done with the A4. V70 AWD out the window as residuals etc make it a more expensive prospect.

A different prospect altogether but as good as the A4 is, there are a lot of them about. I liked a lot about the A4, but there were some negatives too. We'll find out whether the XC compares etc but if it's negatives are greater, then the A4 will be coming home...

Just to say thanks for the informed debate here folks - I'm looking at getting an Audi myself, and quite a few of the comments here have helped me with the decisions I have to make.

(I'm after a 2.8 quattro, but wasn't sure whether the A4 or A6 was better suited for my needs, plus there has been some debate on whether a quattro was necessary at all!)

Cheers

Mind you I have seen a beaut 2.7 Twin Turbo for sale.... 320bhp... hmmmmm......

scoobs 4

Thanks m8. £500 on class 2 business with 1st quote on the XC, so Audi should be cheaper. I'll be contacting NFU as both will be classified as "farm" vehicles in their eyes
