It was tongue in cheek (erm..) and it contained a smiley.
It's what happens when discussions heats up.
It was wrong, so I said so, even though we are in the same "camp" (oh dear LOL

I'm sure he is (made of much stronger stuff) but we are not children and comments like that should not be tolerated on a site which is here for purposes of fun and chat.

Didn't we basically conclude that apart from the stigma of the situation, in terms of the kid's welfare at school or whatever, there wasn't a lot else to either recommend or discourage same-sex parenting (apart from believing those in favour of it were being "pc")? Or is there something new in the equation here?

Oh, and clearly I'm a PC, ruining-the-country sort of person, that goes without saying.

Telboy, no, nothing new.
Or maybe there is: there is confusion about whether it's just about the bullying, or whether the "abnormal" part plays a bigger role for people than the dictionary suggests.
What is really new is the fact that Henrik and I did give some pointers to why it is dubious to call gay people "unnatural" but I'm sure most participants didn't really notice or thought "hmmm... maybe I should read The Selfish Gene" for starters.
So no, nothing new

In fact, on this issue, i agree with the idea of same-sex parenting, given the God-awful mess many mixed-sex parents make of it. But i'm certainly not in favour of it because of any politically correct "gays MUST be given the same rights" point of view - i genuinely think they can do a decent job, which has to be of benefit to the children. Overcoming the bullying thing is to me the only major obstacle....

Which proves 2 things.
1. Gay parents can be good parents.
2. Its not advertised hence they don't get bullied.
You see, I'm not anti gay parent. I'm just anti the implications for a child in an openly same sex parent situation.

This thread is getting funny now:
"You are not a parent so you can't comment on who makes a good parent. I however, know somebody that is gay so I am in a position to speak authoritatively on the subject"

Tiggs, I just did, so I can ![Big Grin](images/smilies/biggrin.gif)
But what I meant was that it could be 4 % or 12 %. Still a large number of kids. Even if it would be 1 %. Add bi-sexuals.
See my point ?
