The video gives no bearing on his technical knowledge, just shows how he got a rally drive. And ok, he crashed off while being filmed. ever seen a raly without a crash?!
Dont see what the fuss is about, bit of jealousy maybe??

Cool, i remember watching this when it was on TV but didn't realise it was Greasemonkey.
Fair play to him, i suspect not many on here have managed to get a drive in a proper WRC car.
How come he never posts anymore? It's not because of the 5th gear gcrash is it?

I just watched the video as well, and respect to GreaseMonkey!
GM has obviously got vast technical experience, as he has proven on the technical forums.
He has also obviously done quite well in a real rally car (the production class), so I don't understand why everyone's picking on him? If he was as crap as everyone is saying, I'm sure he wouldn't have any sponsors.
GM has done what most people on here can only dream about, i.e. got himself a drive in a WRC Impreza. The guy deserves respect, not to be slated on here. I hope he will do very well in future rallies.

Well said.
He has posted on here since 5th gear, but it was not known that he and Greasemonkey were the same. I suspect he hasn't been on because he's busy with rallying.

Is anyone picking on him ?, maybe pulling a leg or three , I meant by my post that I did not realise that was the famous GM when I saw the 5G program. Good luck to him, would love a drive in my own WRC car.
Greasemonkey, we salute you !!!!, come back soon

GM, have to say that was a very close thing dude, as posted above i salute you, and i have changed my mind about you and your posts.
Brave man to go out in a WRC even Braver to do it again after a crash.
One thing i will say NEVER ask a TV Journo if they have Stopped recording!
Good look on Rally of Wales.

Call me a cynic, but I do not believe for one minute that Richard Hopkins is GreaseMonkey.
How could an IT Manager have so much technical knowledge through playing Rally Games on the PS2.
Who started this crazy rumour in the first place ?

Imprezas are hobbys, and entirely possibly to build up a vast technical knowledge from a hobby.

Well whether he is or he isn't that bloke from 5th Gear my opinion of him hasn't changed except that he is too old to be living at home
What is your problem Sti8sam1, why are you so keen to see his true identity revealed?
