After initially being pretty non-plussed with Doom I've been playing it a bit more since I installed the gaffa tape flashlight mod, far better imo to see what I'm blasting and doesnt really ruin the gameplay tbo. There are also a few good mods (you can edit the config to do the same) which alter the weapons slighlty, especially the scatter of the shotgun which atm seems too wide, this also helps on the harder settings.

Got the patch - anything to help lower my heartbeat!
The instruction to "copy the pak005.pk4 to your /base directory" is a bit vague for me though! Where would my base directory be?

the gaffer tape mod is ace
alos i found teh default weapons sound rubbbish . veryweedy and pathetic
this mod makes the weapons sound powerful and really makes a difference
