Would have been a MK2 RS2000 for the track, but it was just too nice to be abused. Would have been a Scooby but I couldn't lower my standards enough (actually, I ran out of cash, but the former sounds better)
The wife's the Scooby owner (Okay, I admit, I used to own one!) but she's going to Darlington for the day on Sat.
I just feel that I have to tag along with these WYIOC guys to keep 'em all in check from time to time.

Gents.. I've just spoken to Dave to confirm the costs..
If it stands at 24 Drivers, each will pay £30. Only a couple of qiuid more than initially advertised.
If we drop below 22 drivers the cost will go up to £35. Again, not a major hike..
Don't ask what the next cut off point is.. cos it won't happen..
Spectators & extra drivers stays at £5.
£150 tuition fee split between those taking it.
BBQ Heat is free.. bring your own sausages & buns..
Again, we need to be open with the costs incurred...
Red Man - Shall I put you down for the tuition?
What's that smell?

Hi Al,
yup put me down for tuition - hopefully there will be enough of us to share the cost - but regardless I had better take the opportunity given my experience is pretty limited.
Another question - given I am new to these events. Is it ok for my young kids and the wife to come along, say from lunchtime onwards? They seem to have got interested this evening - maybe the chance to see dad make a prat of himself is too good to miss

Re: O/B, I've got a box of Millers today. If anyone wants some on Saturday then it cost me £3.15 a bottle so that's what it'll cost U! (Please do not start brandishing WYIOC 10% discount cards ).
If no one wants any I'll try mine with 10 bottles all at once!
CU soon

For anyone coming into Wakey from the East, there'll be a couple of us at Redbeck Shell (Doncaster Road) at 7:15am (filling up to make sure we get to Scunny )

Sticky.. Looks mighty fine to me... If you and daz are leading.. shave of at least an hour from the drive time..
Red Man.. Wife & kids more than welcome.. My lad's (11) going (and as passenger) so I'll make sure he takes his football to have a knock around... (if your kids are old enough and into football that is!)
Stuart.. You are more than welcome too. Charge will be £5 (per car) to watch all day and possibly grab a lap or two with some of those driving if they're up for it... Kids no problem, as above..
Nick.. Done..

Just brought this over from the last thread...
1. Costs & safety Will be covered by Dave & Howard on or nearer the day..
2. The Track. To be open and honest; You should be aware that the track is not Silverstone smooth or wide. It is designed to test a rally car on tarmac with quite a few twists and turns and a few concrete raised sections to upset the car. Also be aware that there may be a few pot holes that could damage an alloy if hit at the wrong angle or speed. The run off in some places is very limited and protected with tyres. Coming off in these areas may result in some contact.. We had no tears last year.. but just to make to you aware.
We may have a brief walk around period to point out particular areas..
Track access. We'll be running the successful 4 token system for track access. The four numbered tokens will be placed at the track entry point and can be picked up by anyone and used straight away for access to the track... No token, no entry. Simply wait until a car comes off, take the token and do your thing... Howard & the tuition guys have one until the tuition is over..it then goes back into the pool.
You can then go out and do as many laps as you want. Simple. Most people did 3-5 laps and then came off for a breather....
At a busy time, you may find that you're in a short queue, but as the cars are only out for approx 5 minutes, you won't be waiting long. We found that for the most part, you could pick a token up and run..
This is down to the fact that we have the track all day (6 odd Hours).. So you can pace yourself.
3. Comfort. The track is a good 1/4-1/2 mile from the briefing cabin and there are no facilities at the trackside to speak of. There's a small porta-cabin to store some gear, but it isn't big enough to sit in. Therefore it is recommended that you take some chairs & tables to make the day comfortable. If someone has a gazebo that would be ideal if it’s raining/sunny (hopefully a bit of both )
4. Food. There are no catering facilities on site. Dave might have some portable BBQ's left over from last year. So bring along some Burgers etc.. and make use of that. It would be an idea to bring a flask & other drinks too (No Alcohol plse)..
5. Convoy. We will be organising a convoy down to the track. The route is advertised on this thread. There is an Optimax Garage just south of Scunny where we will stop off to get a top-up and to pick up any last minute supplies..
6. Enjoyment. This is a quality track day out for silly money and probably the cheapest track use you'll find. The only club rules we have are that;
1. You have a good time..
2. You respect the off track area as there will be kids, drivers, spectators & other cars around. 5 MPH please.
3. Use the token system for track access.
4. You have a good time..
7. Big thanks to Dave for organising this again. We will keep posting here all the information you need.
8. Request Last year we timed some runs for a little fun. Nokia phones did an OK job... But if you have access to some free timing gear... we would be grateful.. Cheers!
Cheers...
