I am I being totally stupid or are we (UK) actually oil exporters? I was under the impression that the North Sea oil fields produced more crude than we consumed?

Wouldn't that make us sellers rather than buyers and therefore benefit as a nation from higher prices?

(I'm not claiming any supporting evidence or knowledge other than a vague recollection of a TV prog! )

It seems the petrol retailers are suppressing the rises for now, so don't be so quick to criticise them when it slumps back down to $35/barrel again...
i work in the freight forwarding industry,no one gives a toss about the amount of uk haulage companys falling by the wayside, thanks to high fuel prices and f**ked up government policys,ie 900lts=£700(somewhere there abouts) might last 5 days depending on mileage 1800-2000,(diesel obviously)everything in your home was one time deliverd by truck. so before you start taking the **** anything the haulage industry is hit with,it will find its way to us, the car driver ie: every uk road, pay per mile, every uk city pay to get in (already here) . pay as you go insurance(might not be to bad) public liability insurance on top, just to drive nextpage¬

insurance per passenger now classed as goods, adr certs as we are carrying dangerous goods ie petrol, diesel, extra costs for serviceing as some green party **** have stuck big taxes on the disposal of oils, tyres, batterys, speed cameras every mile, the list goes on.oh well its the track only for me from now on.

Ran some over the weekend. Putting a stop above the highs on the rest.... we will see. No doubt it will test the highs again but worth trying to run some.
