I am I being totally stupid or are we (UK) actually oil exporters? I was under the impression that the North Sea oil fields produced more crude than we consumed?
Wouldn't that make us sellers rather than buyers and therefore benefit as a nation from higher prices?
(I'm not claiming any supporting evidence or knowledge other than a vague recollection of a TV prog! )
