Had you slipped into a coma? Was that after she sent you out on a Saturday evening at 10pm to get some Vodka for a cocktail??

If I had the choice between the Octavia Vrs and Clio182, I would take the 182. Its all very well having up to 230-250bhp and goes fast in a straight line, but the Clio is the better handling and more fun to drive. I've owned both a Fiat Coupe 20VTurbo LE and Clio172, and while the Fiat was loads faster especially on motorways, I definitely enjoyed driving the Clio more, and despite the Fiat's LSD the Clio was more responsive and more chuckable around bends. And before you say all the stereotypical things like bits fall off Clio's, its French!, dealer are cr@p etc, I had no build problems with the 172 though the dealer can be cr@p. I would choose fun driving experience over straight line power.

I hate to pour fuel on the fire but I weant from a 290 horses STI to an Octavia 4x4 Turbo HAVE ABSOLUTELY NO REGRETS !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!, With a bit of work its easily as much fun & it dosent keep breaking down, The odd part I have had to buy is daft cheap ie indicator repeater lense £1.35 including vat
18 months since I got it, just about to go on the second Cannonball with it, 19th last year (failed to finish the year before as the scoob blew a head gasket on the new engine)
All I can say is if you want a load of fun without worrying about the cost you wont go far wrong with a Skoda, after all its an Audi priced correctly!!

The vRS is sometimes expected to be something it isn't.Its a great family car that can double up for the occasional track day for dad and can race Scoobs for a laugh on the way home from work, and its fast enough for people like me that can't really drive. It flatters the driver,is well balanced, handles well without compromising the ride for the family and is well built (no rattles or hums, and the leather is good quality).Putting on 225/45 GSD3s tidys the ride a bit
