Some people will see no speed limits as an encouragement to drive faster than they normally would, no doubt, but no speed limit doesnt mean that you have to drive flat out in the last gear, it simply means that you can do so if you so wish and conditions permit it. If you look back at the stats, there's no doubt that some younger drivers will be encouraged to drive flat out whenever they can and be the highest accident group of drivers. But that's the same in every country I know (and virtually all of them have speed limits). Why not limit the speed young people (less than X years of holding a driving licence) are allowed to drive at like they do in lots of countries? Not that they necessarily listen, but I dont think it's right to take away other people's right to drive at the speed they please because young drivers are competitively-minded people.
