There needs to be a test for the lentil munching, tree hugging morons that put this (these) tests together.

What a load of pap

Why the **** are we paying the wages of these "public servants" to let them put together such a pile of crap??

Trams, pollution - what are they on???

What sort of driving does this stuff encourage?? It's alright officer - i may have run down that pedestrian, but i was running on environmentally friendly peanut oil, and i had noticed the "beware of subsidised trams" sign due to it's safron shaded border.

Do we have Pellicans in this country, wild ones ?

Stupid questions anyway.

I dont remember any of that on my test day, oh, thats right I wasnt there.

ok, here's a question, forget trams and :

You are driving a Transit sized van, in the back of the van are all manner of things that would wipe you out in a smash, things like welders jacks, skates, rollers etc - think heavy metal, maybe 1/2 a ton or so.

You come over the brow of a hill, 300 yds down the road is a T junction with a few cars queing, however, becuase you are busy gassing to the passenger, you do not brake in time and lock up at 60+MPH about 70 yds from the stationary car in front, its raining BTW. The van is not going to stop in time, you establish this fact at about 30 yds before you hit the car in front.

what do you do?

33.. trams and ice,,

both of which i had the right answer and changed...

goes to show that the bib training is correct..

pity the to**er who took my bike test wasnt aware of the bib mantra..

bmw and anti lock brakes dosnt resolve a pi** poor attitude to candidates,

and the fact that he changed the route with less than 20 yrds to a hazard in

the rain.... I should have let him stuff me up the ****.. that would have made good reading in the paper..

hehe

Mart

long time ago should i add!!!

I also failed with 29. If I was actually taking the test I would swot up and take some mock theory tests etc. As I passed my car test in 1986, class C in 1995 and C+E in 2001, and I live in Canada, I'm not desparately bothered.

Some of the questions are designed to catch people out. My sister in law failed the theory test and the following question didn't help:

Which of the following showing on a traffic light may mean stop:

a) Red

b) Red & Amber

c) Amber

d) Green

The answer is d) green. Green may mean stop if your path is not clear. All the others mean stop.

No it isn't. Amber may mean stop, depending on whether or not you can do so safely. If your path isn't clear at any time then you should do whatever is necessary to avoid an accident, but the green light is not your reason to do so.

Amber still means stop, unless it not safe to do so. I admit it is up to interpretation, which is why the question above is a snidey one.

From the highway code:

You MUST stop behind the white 'Stop' line across your side of the road unless the light is green. If the amber light appears you may go on only if you have already crossed the stop line or are so close to it that to stop might cause an accident.
Laws RTA 1988 sect 36 & TSRGD regs 10 & 36

You MUST NOT move forward over the white line when the red light is showing. Only go forward when the traffic lights are green if there is room for you to clear the junction safely or you are taking up a position to turn right. If the traffic lights are not working, proceed with caution. Allow cyclists and buses time and space to move off when the green signal shows.
Laws RTA 1988 sect 36 & TSRGD regs 10 & 36
