Thats sinky ![Cool](images/smilies/cool.gif)
I thought the POI database would work with 4.2.1 but, sadly, it doesn't.
Its just that in the link I followed you get the following instruction :
_____________
All you need to do to import them is to copy the .ov2 and .bmp into the map directory on the TomTom GO. In the case of the UK this will be "Great Britain Navigator"
_____________
which I did but then couldn't see the new POIs.
Much grief later I learned the upgrade was not yet available
.
Soon, baby ... soon

Fantastic. can't wait to download it. but...too late.
Got to go to work in the next few mins. Ah well something to look forward to this evening.
Hope it's as good as we hope.
Edited to say...Looks like it is.
What's new or improved in TomTom GO 4.40?
Points Of Interest (POI) management:
Create your own POI category
Add locations to your own category
by using a point on the map
by specifying a location
Plug-in a POI category from other TomTom users (including from TomTom PocketPC/Palm users)
Add locations to the plugged-in category
Edit your POI category, or your plugged-in category
Modify the locations in your category
Delete locations in your category
Delete your POI category, or your plugged-in category
Delete a plugged-in category
Use your POI, or plugged-in, category in the application as build-in POI category
Enable/disable display to map browser or moving map
Search by proximity to a location and/or by name
Turn into destination, departure, via, home, favourite, other POI
Option to get a warning when you are close to a POI. The warning will be given based on the specified POI category, distance and sound.
Language and voices support:
Option to select your application in Portuguese, Norwegian or Finnish
Option to load your own (or from others) voice files for personalized navigation instructions
Other:
Brief display of a volume slider added when touching the repeat instruction area (left on the status bar) for hearing the instruction of the next maneuver
New option to use a manually specified point on the map as a via (i.e. waypoint for the calculated route)
More accurate ASN (Assisted Satellite Navigation)
Maximum brightness level of the display increased
Fix for the clock to stay more precise
Several quality changes and improvements
Your OWN voice files. The potential for comedy. Hilareous

Right - just downloaded the new version. Also added the Pocketgps speed camera and red light camera directory as POIs.
Now to test them......![Big Grin](images/smilies/biggrin.gif)

Harry Boy, I've just downloaded the new version but when I went to install it I was told that my card is full and to delete voice prompts or maps. I've got the 128mb card as supplied. Should I uninstall whats on the card first?
Did you have similar probs. Help
John

The first thing I did was to install a new 512Mb SD card, but you will need to add the TTGo OS onto the new card, as well as the maps.
I'm slightly surprised that your 128Mb card is full, as there should still be enough headroom available.
Anyway, my suggestion would be to get a bigger card (you'll need it for the continental Europe maps in any event), but leave what's on the supplied cars as a back up....

Out of interest, will this fit on the standard 128M card.
Or should I hit PC World to get a larger card before trying to load the update and Safety Camera software.
[Answer]
I deleted the voices I don't use and installed the new software, and then the camera software all on the standard supplied card ok..

@bajie
seems to be the only way. your sd card is linked to the actual TT. so i am just gonna copy whats on my 128 meg card on to the 1Gb card and use the 128 as a backup if the 1 gig goes **** up. should be plenty of room for other stuff. have you seen the number of POI on the pocketGPS site. holy **** thats alot of info. screen might get to be really cluttered if you had them all switched on.
cheers
