I see where you are coming from Paul, but I went for a 6speed, still would work out with labour no doubt the same price as getting a dog and getting it fitted?

What happens if I get it back on the road, go and do the sprints and bam the gearbox goes.. car now stuck in jersey, with x amount spent on a 6speed, which is now useless. and will now have to fork out x amount on something other gearset.

The autobox that rigoli uses etc, does it have tip-tronic? as that is almost acceptable I guess.

True Christian, but a 6 speed can be had from £1000, where as a full dog kit will set you back MUCH more than this. You could afford to buy 3 6 speeds and labour for each as apposed to getting a single dog kit and associated parts and labour.

There are about, but it's a kind of wink wink nudge nudge secret 6 speed club kinda thing. But even paying £1500 for one, which is really the current going rate inc delivery, you could get 2 in fitting in place of a single dog kit and fitting.

christian will have to face agro as I doubt his turbo location is compatible with the larger 6 speed casing.

Err, you saying Wallis' and my car have different size (external dimensions) to that of Christians, sufficient enough to say he wont be able to fit a 6 speed.

I presume is Turbo location will be the standard clocked version, ala Trout, Wallis, Andy and myself?

Or is it completely different?

all of yours were a copy of mine to my knowledge, suppose there is a chance of there being some difference since mine is intended to have a replumbed external wastegate. Having just fitted mine and tightened up the bolts, the consensus between me pat and moray was that it would require some serious machining away of either the turbo or the gearbox casing to allow both to fit.

My Turbo fitted fine on the rotated up-pipe / down pipe configuration with the 6 speed gearbox. To my knowledge Adam, changes have been made to these pipes since your original one.

slightly cheaper than a six speed seq that I found, that will cost about 14.5k plus vat and shipping!

But I do not want a normal auto, to boring for my liking.

Someone else on another forum said that par do a uprated gearset for the six-speed, but I couldn't see it on their website?

as this could be a possible way to go

Adam, Wallis' was hand crafted by himself and Pavlo, and i believe mine was the 1st of the new style ones that Mark had made up, with a 6 speed box in situ.

I personally, am still in 2 minds as to ditch the 6 speed and go back to a 5 speed.

Christian, with 600 ft/lbs and 600 hp I dont believe "boring" would describe the feeling driving your car even with an autobox

Apparently, the autobox "cushions" the blow to the transmission componants. Rigoli have only just changed to a fixed back axle system from standard componants (diffs & driveshafts) after breaking a driveshaft. They only became a problem when the car went into the 9 second quarters and 150 mph terminal speeds . They are believed to be well over 1000 hp so it seems like a good test.

How about getting a 6speed, then later down the line, possibly getting a gear set made. There is Jun 6speed gearset but probably is a fortune! There is a gearbox guy in the Uk that was looking at making a gear set for the 6speed to take this torque. Im not sure if its done yet or if its still in testing area but was cheaper than most gearsets and looked promising

you can buy an uprated gearse for the 6 speed already from PPG. It cost's a measly $11,000 australian, plus vat and delivery.

Next you will have a leather interior and pipe and slippers

Autobox indeed

Thats some torque figure.

If you want to maintain that power, the gearbox will cost a fortune. And as a few people have pointed out that power isnt likely to hold the internals together.....

With the pectel, going to have incar boost control settings, so I am going to have different power settings so to speak. So will prob only use the full amount when doing the sprints etc. As with a speed limit of 40mph.... well say no more

Christian, go with a 6spd. Break it then use the casing for something else..

Also be gentle with it.
