Also cars from Malta. This is because up until May 1st this year Cyprus and Malta were not part of the European Union. Therefore IM's pan-european warranty did not cover cars from these countries, it was just the 1-year manufacturer's warranty. They are covered now AFAIK.

If its an EU spec car it should come with a Certificate Of Conformity and so won't need SVA.
This is true. When you buy an EU spec car you get a certificate from Fuji Heavy Industries stating the car conforms to European spec. You need to send this along with a copy of the registration document and a copy of the EU dealer's invoice to Subaru UK and ask for written confirmation that your 3-year warranty has been activated.

They say they have sold over 100 sti at £18.8k in August alone (with 2yr Euro warranty.)

Add TSL T333 mapping and you have the poor man's T25!!
They now seem to have temporarily disappeared - any ideas what's going on?

God there is quite a bit to get though here
BUT......

Has anyone pointed out that these cars WONT have the A-DCCD which will mean greater losses at resale? (plus considering that if the car is also remapped you will loose your warranty?)

Still worth going for a UK car with all the gubbins on over one of these (and considerably less APR rates from a subaru dealer than somewhere like carcraft).

I'm more or less with you on this one Tony

I posted this as a "warning flag" for anyone that might have been contemplating the Newcarsupermarket route! Something decidedly odd going on in the background? Intriguingly, the Carcraft website is still up and running though.

As far as DCCD is concerned I had a feeling that some - but not all - of the parallel importers are/were offering 100% UK spec'd cars.

Surely, remapping would also potentially invalidate the warranty on a UK supplied car (unless done as part of the Prodrive package)?

Wrong. All european cars are the same.

All the cars are built identical, on the same production line in Japan. The Uk fitted bits (alarm, tracker etc) that make the car a 'Type UK' are fitted once landed in the UK. Apart from that, technically the cars are identical and have all the toys a 'UK' car will have.

Pleae don't misinform people. DCCD comes on all 2005 European STI's.

No not true.
You can buy the MY05 STi in europe without the A-DCCD, in the UK its standard but they also put 1k on the price for this reason.

LC

DCCD-A is an OPTION on EU cars, not the std spec on all of them. Subaru UK have chosen to order ALL cars with this option, other markets may take the cars without it at a reduced price.
