My reply

RE: Subari Impreza Turbo

Thank you for your recent enquiry regarding the above vehicle, unfortunately we do not produce a Service & Repair manual for your vehicle and regret have no plans to do so within the foreseeable future (6-8 months).

However, all customer requests are recorded and used in the decision making process of future manual publications/updates. I realise that this may be of little help to you at present, but I can assure you that your request has not been ignored.

Sorry we could not be of further assistance in this instance, assuring you of our best intentions at all times.

Yours sincerely

Me "Hi Its Will at Halfords in Peterborough, Ive a had a customer come in asking for a Manual for a Subaru Impreza But ive got not list of one (playing it dumb) do you do one or do you have plans to do one in the future?"

Harrased sounding haynes lady came back almost instantly with "No we dont do one of those and we dont have any plans to in the future"

Judging by the tone of her voice and the instant reply, do you think theyve had a "few" enquirys over the last few days?

We seem to be getting very mixed responses from Haynes:

Thank you for your email below. We only have sales figures for the UK and other European Countries (where the model is popular) covering UK or European spec models. These are well under the 50,000 required for each version. The whole "grey" import area is a minefield with many variations and no reliable source of information (it simply isn't available from the manufacturer). Another problem is we simply do not know how many have been brought in - all the figures bandied about in the press are just wild guesses. Therefore it is extremely unlikely that we will produce a manual for this vehicle in the near future.

Sorry that we could not be of further assistance with your query.

Kind regards,

Morag Laughton
