RB5. Can I have a copy
For a short time, I worked in a video shop and we had many a person return 'Irreversible' looking very troubled and saying things like "that's the worst thing I have ever seen!" You have been warned. Base moi also got similar comments.
Personally, when I was a kid, the Moomins used to scare the crap outta me!

Only really two scenes out of all the films i have ever seen that disturbed me.
One was in Mississippi Burning when they string the farmer up outside his own house and his son finds him but hes already dead.
The other is in Saving Private Ryan where the German soldier who they previously released slowly pushes the knife through the guy when they are fighting on the floor.
Either one of these scenes just totally goes through me and i cant watch at all. They made me feel violently ill as well at the time.

I remember watching an old 70's horror movie as a kid called Trog about a caveman that gets disturbed & thawed out by pot holers & goes on a killing spree. Scared the ****e out of me & gave me really bad nightmares for months

Are we allowed disturbing real life television?
If so, then I have a permanent imprint of a piece of footage showing the murder of two british soldiers who made a wrong turn during a funeral in Northern Ireland. They were surrounded, and dragged from their car by a mob of mourners, then they were beaten to a pulp and dragged/dropped over walls and barbed wire fences.
Later I believe they were shot in the head.
There was a black cab involved, that sticks in my head but I dont know why.
The footage was shot by a military helicopter, very disturbing.
Ive seen similar/worse scenes since then I think we all have, but they havent had the same effect, maybe it was my age at the time.

the most irritating bit i have seen was when ash (EVIL DEAD) was punching his GF when she changed into a demon and she was cackling away, how irritating and gross is that cackling and "she" wouldn't stop

The 'Dentist'-Scene in The Marathon Man was quite disturbing. *yyyyeeeeiiiiiikkkk*
was one film with jeromy irons in it, he played twin doctor brothers, ended up one of them cutting the other open while still alive on operating table.. can't remeber what it was called..
Don't know if this has been mentioned yet but Straw Dogs has some err... difficult moments.

in Robocop i always found the bit near the end when the guy gets washed with Acid quite disturbing. then he gets squished by a car. i again was young when i saw it so it probably wouldnt be too scary now. I havent seen those films in ages, i bet there really poor quality looking now. But at the time it was brilliant.
Stephen King's IT scared me when i was younger and the thought of that clown still creeps me out! shame the end of that film turns out to be really lame!
Polterguiest was scary too when i first saw it, again when i was young.
Carolannnnne....

disturbed by the music
The 'orgy' scene at the end of 80's horror flick "Society".
Shape shifting gentry descend en mass to an unwilling human from the lower classes and slowly everyone melds together. The scene wasn't bad in itself but the score used the 'Blue Danube' waltz and for years after, hearing that piece of music used to make me feel queasy.

Casino - head + vice - eye ball =
and the final scene when Joe Pesci and his brother get beaten to death with baseball bats and it shows their naked bodies covered in bruising being buried. really sickening, not seen anything to beat it.
and american history x obviously the kerbing incident.
Braveheart was tough to watch though, not many films make me feel sad and not far from the odd tear but when hes being disected its a little disturbing

Some great replies to this thread..really takes me back. "Threads" scared the **** out of me as a kid growing up in Sheffield.. You're right about Salem's Lot too..when the creature's head pops up at the window for the first time..eek.
The Omen freaked me out as a kid, as did The Shining. I was much older when I saw The Exorcist, and this was the last time I remember being really scared by anything.
The Wicker Man is scary in an eerie way..well worth seeking out if you've not seen it..
Me and my Brother got lost in his Cooper S in backwoods Pennsylvania when I was in the US the other week.. started us off talking about all the films set in hicksville parts of America.. Deliverance, Wrong Turn, Cabin Fever, Blair Witch, Jeepers Creepers etc.. we were 5hitting it after a bit until we found our way back to the Interstate.

Only film I have ever found disturbing is "Threads". Was first shown by the BBC in the 80's and then never shown again. If you watch it, you will see why....
Describes the aftermath of a nuclear attack on Sheffield

Its was immediately banned nationwide
i think thats why nothing much disturbs me, been corrupted too much too early

I'll go with this 1, if some1 thinks theyve seen disturbing "films" this is just disgusting, its a film made up of REAL executions and the 1 that sticks in my mind was the guy getting stoned. they chucked a rock at his head and his face was in tatters, it was gruesome, the most sickening thing Ive seen ever. what makes it worse was this thing should be banned yet you could rent it from Blockbuster, people make money from a video of real people being killed in all sorts of ways, my misses brother watched it over and over, tbh I think the lads sick in the head and always put it on when I visited.

Baise-Moi - the rape scene.
Braveheart - the disembowelling.
Saving Private Ryan - first 20 mins.
Monster - frankly, the whole film.
I had no problems with Robocop, perhaps as I was older than 10 when I first saw it. Personally, I loved it, I thought Paul Verhoeven was flipping Hollywood the bird by saying "You thought you could do gross? You thought you could do crass? Well, watch this!" Similarly with Man Bites Dog.
