£40k sounds like a baragin to me ....... I mean im sure all the engine internals must have been changed to safely take the 365 or whatever BHP for one ?????

Not sure about it only being worth £20K in a year as you said Davey boy. I would imagine he will get £25K for it if he sells it privately.

Does anyone know the spec of this vehicle then? What have they done to it to warrant the extra £10K. That's serious money - brand new M3 for that, amongst other nice stuff!

LOL !!

Cant wait for the spec list for the 40K WR1 !!

These are special cars in the first place, so a extra 10K its must be really special.

Im with the Number Plate and rear spoiler pushing the price up so much

Those WRC plates sell for a song on Ebay

Oh, and wanted three times as much as any other dealer for fitting a boost gauge...

Do you have evidence to dis-prove them then Thrust??? They won an award for being the biggest seller of STi in the country last year - the whole handing over of awards was featured in the Dealer Magazines and is emblazoned all over the walls of the dealership. I know they won it by a huge margin!!

You should check out the facts before imediately dis-believing them!

A mate of mine just had a motor from up there and commented to me on the WR1 that was in the workshop after quite a nasty bump... someone apparantly lost control on a roundabout.... ouch painfull to the pocket and the pride.

He said the wheels were not all pointing in the same direction

To be honest they gave him a great deal on the STI he just bought, I could not fault it.

Simon

Agreed it is a lot of cash to part with for a subaru - not disputing that. Ferrrari 355s can be picked up for 37k now and that would be my choice over anything if had upwards of 40k to spend on a motor.

But with the mods that have been fitted to that car it is worth the money - seeing as you'll be getting a track ready monster that can play with some of the most sophisticated cars on the market - e.g. Nobles etc.

Ohlins adjustable suspension does it for me. That is an awesome set-up!! (as Discussed on WR1oc Brian )

WR1 for sale on EBay not long back only reached £15000 and the guy sold it so. Dont think the residual value is gonna be very good on these motors. The 22b still seems to hold its value the best.

Who said I immediately disbelieved them? I didn't say that. I simply formed my opinion of them based on their prices compared to other dealerships - which turned out to be huge when I shopped around a little. I encourage everyone to compare prices and to form their OWN opinion.

The rest of my posting is simply what they told me. How come we don't hear on Scoobynet of 50% of the newage STi Type UKs in this country having custom PPP mappings by Prodrive, available only through this one dealer? (And yes, they told me that pretty well all the STis they sell have PPP fitted.)

True... for about 1000 miles on the standard turbo... as its only rated airflow throuput to around 340bhp thats max... anything near that and it wont last very lang... the APS SR30 ball bearing turbo is far supior to the IHI unit and is rated to 340hp... the sr40 to 440bhp... and to be reliable then it would certainly need a change to that kind of rated turbo...

Anyhow why the frock would spend 40k and an allready superceeded car when you could by a T25 with Warranty & with the new STI spec. with 360\360 for £6000 less!

Or and by the way the Noble would pi$$ all over the scoob anywhere apart from a wet road on takeoff... lets not kid ourselves hey... it its nearly 400kg less... DOH!

Also whilst on in the typing mood...

WHO ON SCOOBYNET HAS EVERY HAD A CUSTOM MAPPING BY PRODRIVE?????????????????????????????????????????: cuckoo:
Unless you have VERY DEEP pockets for a full engine makover by them..

Why would they do that when Mike wood has already stated umpteen times that the car is at around 320bhp at the limit of the turbo for reliable operation...!
