I really don't understand why SG has to take this reaction ?? I for one really enjoyed the day from start to finish. I did hang out a fair bit with the .org posse but also said hello and chatted lightly with a bunch of other people be it locals or owners ?? It was my first official Scoob (big) meet and won't be my last, and all credit to Vern and FMS who sorted out a brilliant day ! Roll on the next...............

Nelson, just because I own a scooby doesn't mean that everything to do with them is a turn on for me. Hence my negative review of the day which after all is my own impression. Contrary to popular misconception, I did not sit outside the restaraunt all day. We toured the town the same as everyone else and perused the vehicles too... and left at around 1.30. It appears that a build up of over exageration has ensued here judging from a lot of responses. Perhaps if I had written a 1000 word essay my feelings would have sounded a little less boorish because the negative would have been balanced by the positive?

SG - Of course you are entitled to your opinion on the day like all of us but like Duracell I didn't know anything about this until I read the thread on here and on impreza.org. It was just not nice seeing/reading a lot of negative vibes when so much effort had gone in to making this a great meet.
I thought it was brilliant and all credit to Big V and FMS and to the rest of the Scooby Community who did their bit.

Competition winners
Proven Motors ran a competition on the day of the Scooby Meet at Alton and here are the winners:
The prize of a test-drive day at Pro-Drive was won by Daryl Russell of Southampton - he drives a 51 plate WRX.
The runner up prize was won by an Adrian Poole of Midhurst in West Sussex.
Well done guys! See- it was worth entering after all. (Wish I'd won the test drive day at Pro-Drive!)

Both myself and my husband went to this meet. We decided to drive down on the Saturday and stay over, we didn't know anyone there and we couldn't have been welcomed more by everyone, thanks guys and gals, it was great to meet you all.
On the Sunday the people that were about were just as friendly, everyone chatting about their cars, mods etc, the atmosphere was fantastic, myself and hubby (Highlander68k) spoke to many people, we went out of our way to speak to people which is what you have to do at meets/events like this, if you don't make the effort to talk to people then why should they bother with you? I am able to communicate with people (other than on the internet) but then, it must be the girl in me

If you're anywhere near Alton on 3rd Oct., come and see the cars of yesteryear at our Classic Car Show.
See you all back here next year - let's go for 200 next time!
