Once again SCOOBYNET MODERATORS mess things up.You's couldn't organise a **** up in a brewery!!!!!!!!!
I would have thought that whoever WON the tickets could do whatever they wanted with them but oh! no! mods have to move the goalposts yet again. This forum is getting more clandestine by the minute. With your inappropriate action,I bought those tickets in good faith, you have ruined my son's & selfs weekend. Now I know why so many have left & gone to SIDC.
Del
PS. Thanks Brian for all your efforts, see you soon but not on here!!!!!

Del - were you contacted about the fact you could not uplift the tickets?
Redkop - I don't disagree that in some peoples opinion it may be fair but I am afraid the tone of you language, in the context of other posts, implies a lack of subtlety. How did you know that the tickets had not gone to someone who had already put their name down for the tickets in the first place - [thoughts now removed as they were accurate but may be taken as offensive].
If I had given the tickets away instead of taking a token amount for them, would that have been different. Doubt it.
Del - sorry again mate, I will catch you around.

Not poor justification at all - a fair one for all SN Plus members that entered the draw
Webmaster asked for opinions and I gave mine, sorry that you didn't like it but I am allowed an opinion.
It's that time again, and we are able to offer 3 lucky ScoobyNet Plus members a pair of event passes!
am open to opinion on this, but in my mind, the tickets should go to someone else who really wanted them and posted on the thread.
What does everyone think?

Firstly, apologies again for any inconvenience.
SCOOBAY
After reading wrxmania's post and thinking (from reading it) that he hadn't in-fact SOLD the tickets, but had given them to his friend, I was about to go and find some more tickets in order to offer them to you. Later however you confirm that it was indeed a sale (which is illegal, let alone a little unfair to everyone else).
Since your outburst, I have two main feelings. 1) I would rather you never visited this site again, 2) I am delighted that we managed to see your true side prior to giving you these passes, which are now going to a much more deserving (IMHO) home.
--
It is clear to me now, that wrxmania had the best intentions, and whilst I do not agree with the idea of entering the draw in the knowledge that you couldn't go, and also the idea of then selling them... I do understand that this was not done through any negative motives.
Situations like this DO however make you wish you hadn't tried to do anything good for people.. but there is only one person on here which has provided those feelings.
SCOOBAY
I understand you would be angry about buying some tickets from someone, and then not being able to use them. But it is a little off to start blaming scoobynet for that. The tickets were never allowed to be sold on, this is effectively ticket touting and is just not allowed. In addition, I would have prefered wrxmania to have contacted us prior to attempting to sell them.
It is true however that we are an easy target for your frustrations.
--
Congrats to those who are going. I'm looking forward to seeing you in Cardiff / Swansea.
All the best
Simon

I can't help but think that this has been blown out of proportion again you did win them after all and they were free so it does seem underhand to try and sell them on afterwards.
The Webmaster of scoobynet didn't even have to offer the tickets in the first place and I bet he wishes now that he hadn't.
I hope that this thread and the other thread won't ruin the other members chances of a future draw.
Just my opinion

OK
Believe it or not...
Matt can't make it!!! (god help us!!)
I suggest...
those who CAN make it, Posted prior to the initial announcement of who had won (the first time!! ), is a plus member, intends to use the tickets themselves, and is still interested...
please post now and we'll pick from those..
If this is considered unfair in some way, please tell us and we'll listen!
Any more complications and I think I'm going to eat them!
Cheers

Does anyone actually want to go to the Rally? I deffo can't so please don't add me.
PS Note to Si. Next year don't advertise them as tickets to the Rally GB, but a chance to get up and close and personal to some people with big scoops.

I am saddened by the whole event.
I won a competition which I did enter in good faith of going.
I could not as there was less than one days notice of the winner before the event - I live in Scotland so a fair distance away.
I then offered them to anyone who wanted to take them and was passing them on for very little gain. I cannot see how this is ticket touting and illegal?
The point stands - if it had been an exhaust, a jacket, a bin bag, a loaf of bread - I won the prize so it should have been mine to do as I please.
It is easy for lots of people to pass comment when they A) Did not win and B) Were not posting here and on SIDC fwhen I was asking for advice for a while with no help offered.
The usual - everyone gets slammed for things others don't agree with.
Thanks for making my winning something in my life at last a totally negative experience. It is bad enough that I cannot use the prize I won IN GOOD FAITH but now I do not even have a right to the prize apparently.
I also think you are being a bit hard on Scoobay - he ALMOST left to drive to Wales in good faith. Not his fault and he is obviously angry.

Like i keep saying Brian
I APOLOGISE to you for the frustrations you are obviously feeling.
I also made it clear that I believe you did everything in good faith.
I also agree that Scoobay did nothing wrong. he bought the tickets in good faith.
I also commented that I was going to hunt high and low to find a solution in order to make it OK for everyone - again (using your well used phrase) IN GOOD FAITH, even though this would have caused me problems, and the situation was not caused by me, so was something I could hapily wash my hands of.
What irriated me afterwards was Scoobay's outrageous attack, and this IMHO made me feel rather fortunate that I hadn't gone to the trouble of trying to help him out.
This is just one of them things in life. You made a bit of a ****-up. You didn't do it to be nasty to anyone, and you didn't try to cause this situation, but you simply should not have attempted to sell them -although AGAIN, I DO COMPLETELY understand that you didn't do this for bad reasons.. it was just a ****-up. **** happens!
Remember, the intial post was merely ASKING you if you didn't mind if someone who was entitled to your tickets got them. It is a shame that Scoobay reacted the way he did instead.
Regarding your comments that you did think you could make it...
To me that sounds like someone who just put their name down for the hell of it as they never thought they would win anyway. AGAIN.. I don't think you did this for bad reasons.. I just see it as one of them things.
From our side, I have to say that it does indeed put you off trying to do good things for people. Think about it..
1) we arrange these free tickets and give them to plus members rather than simply to our mates
2) after hearing that one of the people who entered couldn't make it anyway and the sold their tickets to someone else. We STILL tried to help people out by making it fair for everyone and cover up for your ****-up by finding tickets for that person.
3) we then get abused by the person we were trying to go out of our way to help to GIVE SOMETHING TO THEM FOR NOTHING
It's a little disheartening.
regards
Simon

unbelievable!
As I said orginally, the prizes should have been offered to "all" scoobynet plus members, not just those who had posted on this thread.
If you won one of the prizes, it would be yours to do with as you please. How are you going to police the giving of prizes to specific people?
Very few people on here use their real names, and could have sold them on ebay to anybody at a profit to anyone. Do you have to take 2 forms of id to get into the rally, checked by marshalls on the gate? I don't think so.
The only rules of the draw I can see is that you had to post on here, and be a scoobynet plus member, where does it say you cant then sell on the prize after winning?
Now, 2 out of the 3 winners cant go, and a 3rd choice now cant either!!!!
Maybe the competition should have been done sooner than 3 days before the start of the rally, giving people time to plan ahead, and post accordingly.
chris.

Guys
we tried to do something good for you all.
We had very little notice, and passed on all of that notice.
Are you saying we should have simply not bothered?
I feel like throwing this remaining pair of tickets in the bin!
