what about urban foxes?,i can't see van loads of shooters going around citys at night doing foxes!.
That's a bloody rediculous analogy.. I don't see horses and hounds rampaging thru the inner cities either!

You are still a hypocrite B2Z, being the selfish owner of a cat that kills wildlife, all because you wanted the pleasure of owning a fluffy thing:

They are not indigenous to this country, they kill indigenous wildlife and you knew that, but you went ahead and got one anyway because YOU wanted it for your own pleasure.

Hardly an ideal moral grounding to launch an attack on people who take pleasure in hunting, is it.

The arguments are getting more and more pathetic for the pro lobby
The arguments remain the same. If anything is becoming more pathetic it's your obvious exasperation at having your credibility undermined by being exposed as a hypocrite.

Oh and to add I don't own a cat or cats any longer so no I am not a selfish cat owner!
Good!

Despite your obtuse protestations it is not difficult to see the point I am making.

You can't even see how desperate your attempts to defend fox hunting are, the depths to which you have to delve and bring out incredibly stupid non existent correlations between totally independant actions/events like owning a cat and hunting a fox with hounds it laughable!
No, I am not desperate because as I have already stated the decision has been made now and for all your huffing, puffing and eye rolling I will continue to participate in various field sports regardless, if its all the same to you.

I think he means that people take pleasure in the *ownership* of a cat. Not in seeing it kill things.

Welcome back Jason, I didn't think you were talking to me any more!

I don't actively participate in fox hunting in so far as you wouldn't catch me on a horse! I do follow hunts however.

As an amusing aside, I was briefly mistaken as a hunt saboteur once when a hunt came through an area in which I was rough shooting and suitably attired in camo gear!

Taking your beagles out to kill a fox is premditated and 100% organised so not the same as letting the cat out for some fresh air letting it do what it wants.
You let it out knowing full well it will kill. It doesn't matter that you aren't letting it out TO kill, you are no less culpable. Through your own selfish desires animals are being killed and just because you don't see it or officially "condone" it you let it happen nonetheless. Ergo, you are a hypocrite. Sorry.

Perhaps if you hadnt been so busy performing the "hurt child" routine you might have been able to make better use of the information I have provided.

Either way, I don't intend to spend any more of my time trying to convince you. The information is there, take it or leave it!

I think it is abundantly clear where we stand.
We have different opinions - I'm OK with that, are you?

I would say so, chances are you have recently drunk in a pub named after fox hunting!

http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/uk/422753.stm

The Inn Sign Society says that there are 27 pub names including the word fox - including The Snooty Fox, The Lazy Fox, The Crafty Fox and The Hungry Fox. And that's before they start counting the Tally Hos, the Horses and Hounds - and a Whipper Inn.

No not as bad, you are worse because hunting performs a useful function for the ecosystem whereas cat predation has a negative effect.

Sorry old bean!

Ok, so if we take what you are saying as true (I don't believe it is true btw) then you are still worse because fox hunting would have no effect, whereas cat predation has negative effect.

Sorry once again, old bean

Well if we had started this thread BEFORE the vote had been taken or indeed if this thread had any connection with the outcome of the vote whatsoever then I would have to concede. However, in light of the fact the result was already decided, it should have been obvious that my objective was to show you that you are unqualified to make a meaningful stance against fox hunting and to show you that your actions, on a ecological scale, are worse than that of the hunters. An objective that I feel I have fulfilled comfortably.

It appears mine didn't vote at all. I'll be having a word with him about that.
