Yes there is.

Start with the wheel furthest away from the master brake cylinder, then do the next furthest - ending with the closest. So for a RHD Impreza its passenger rear, driver rear, passenger front, driver front in that order.

BTW I use Castrol super DOT 4 from Halfords, much better feel than the 5.1's I've used.

: You can buy Hammerite at most decent DIY shops, inluding B&Q, Focus, Homebase etc etc etc.

The Smooth stuff, also sometimers branded "Smoothrite" comes in many colours. It's about £5 a small tin which would do all 4 calipers if necessary. They also do different types of paint, you want the smooth enamel type. It's usually on a rack with all the rest of their stuff, just ask a storeperson for Hammerite paint. I used brushing enamel, it gives a good finish and doesn't need masking, but you can remove calipers via 2 bolts per side to make the job easier, then tie the caliper to the suspension spring with a bit of wire or string to avoid strain on the brake pipes.

Interestingly, it's made by the same company who make Waxoyl.

I THINK it's Xylene based so buy some Hammerite thinners to clean the brush with, then use detergent and water. Oh and a smallish brush.........mine is a child's large soft painting brush, number 8. Hammerite dries VERY quickly, so you can do both sides in a morning.

HINT: get somer silver or copper hammered enamel while you are there and do the bit of the disc that houses the handbrake shoes for a really neat appearance and no rust!

AWD WRX: Yes it is. I ordered Brembos with disc for my friend together. Brembo kit was ready to send on next day Iam waiting for finishig VW disc only. Damm german car ))
It was third party (Ians supplier) problem absolutely not dependent to Godspeed so I will receive it at short time.

Sam I dont understand what is your problem with hoses? You ordered kit without hoses? OE 4pot have another sealing end with something like stud at calliper side. I think it is anti screw design and it is not esasy use it with Brembo calipers on Godspeed picture. May be the are shor too.
If you still get spongy feel, try use brailed hoses for rear too and master brake cylinder brace like this one: http://www.mrtrally.com.au/shop/imag...mussbr023b.jpg

Erik,

Have a read here...

http://bbs.scoobynet.co.uk/showthread.php?t=365520

I used goodridge hoses i bought a while ago that i used for my Hi-Spec calipers, and assumed that they would have fit...not realising i put the calipers on upside down, hence dd not get much bubles when bleeding..

Rear are also running on Goodridge hose's....

Ian has sent me new hose's (that i paid for) and should be with me tommrow, and are little longer....

So will give it a try, have to bleed gain...daam i hate bleeding...

But will update tommrow if its any better....

Sam
ps: that car dnt look like it has much in the engine bay....

Wink

The rerar discs have the handbrake drum as part of them, and the shoes are inside it. I really meant "drum" I suppose. Look at your rear disc and you'll see that there is a wide horizontal area from the disc to the wheel, which tends to rust. That's the bit you paint.

You can just make it out on my photo, it's painted a sort of copper colour.

Thumbs up Finally at the End of My Brembo Conversion

Finally there...the Hose's arrived on the 5th Day!!!

Spent Saturday night in the garage....changing the hose's, took ages, as those things are a pain to get off and back on again...

Bleeded the brakes..yes again..

Now all seems ok...

Only thing i have to look into now is the color match for the rear as mentioned above..

Question

Now that my brakes are fitted....I dont find them to be that good...

Could this have anything to do with the Ferodo DS2000 PADS?

My kit arrived today with Brembo/Galfer 3318 ff pads with DS2000 compound. This comp is good from 70 to 450°C max 600°C and have no inital bite like extreme Mintex 1155. I have used 1155 thy work well from cold only if is colder fo example -10°C frist braking was a little bit weaker. Bite is good and OE disc lasted 8 000Km only. So I changed it for Tarox ceramic with extreme bite and exteme expensive and no warranty after 10-11 000 damage with no trackdays and easy driving by my wife...
You can look for Pagid or Ferodo DSP a new one with good temp range. DSP was developed by cooperation with one Czech Mitsub. rally team or DS2500 something between 2000 and DSP
Capliper seems to be good and disc are perfect I cant advice more at this time may be tommorow when fitted. First impresion is great.

First attempt was not successful. Unable to ease brake pipe/line connection I need special wrench, next attepmt is at Monday evening when new brake fluid arrive.
I have few questions.
All calliper and disc is very close to another parts especialy disc is too close to protecting plate (max 1mm distance). This plate covers ABS and ball pivot from heat and dust. Do I need it here? It is smaler due my OE 276mm disc.
And now much important question... can somebody tell me torque settings please? I dont want brake it when caliper goes hot.

Have the 4 Pot brembos, got much more bite than the subaru 4 pots then ?? Reason i ask is i have just upgraded from the 2 pot opposed caliper ones & have noticed a big diff, Also using the new Ebc ceramic reds 200 % better than the old redstuff compound you actually get brakes from cold & they just keep bitting no matter how hard you push them

Iam runnig with Brembo finally )) Looks great but there is one question what makes me nervous: Godspeed disc looks very thight. How much can last and how much resist fade when I push it really hard? First impression is great but I want know limitation from trackdays.
