Have there not always been areas such as public parks referred to as 'Lover's Lane' and the likes? Usually they are frequented by young couples who have nowhere else to go. Maybe the fact that being gay is treated with such a stigma (witness the numerous jibes in this thread) that part of the reason is they feel they have to go somewhere 'out of the way'.

Just a thought.

To be honest for a lot of people it's about making a statement on one of these rallies, and of course that sort of clothing to the majority of the public, is associated with homosexuality. I have to say though, i've never noticed the PVC thing as much as you're suggesting, though there's certainly a lot of dodgy leather gear on the blokes, which to be honest i find all a bit unnecessary for a public display.

LOL - don't think there were any anti-gay jibes - just people interested in the culture an subculture of their mainly public way of life.

One of my mates is gay and he gives my some of the best gay jokes and stories imaginable, while telling me that he wouldn't have chose "those curtains for a livingroom", but even he can't explain some of the odd behaviour.

Still remember him coming up to my house one friday in his car and squealing like a girl - "all the way down here in the car I had one of those probes up my ****", obviously he meant a ford probe, but how we laughed.


It beats his usual - it was a blue one and expects everyone to tell you what it is, other than a Mini, Audi TT, or my UGLY ONE WITH THE LUMP ON THE BONNET
