looking at the prices of proper Kaylan, I would say its a safe bet that £45 is too cheap for the real stuff, for a full set.
I am out.
Thanks

Oh dear -I see what you mean about the website - that got changed pdq.
'Fraid I'll pull out as well -sorry.
Mega gave some helpful advice on another thread:
http://bbs.scoobynet.co.uk/showthread.php?t=305188 which gives a bit more info on what is and isn't Kaylan.
I'm surprised KD aren't jumping on these companies more heavily?
Perhaps the GB can be rescued by a direct approach to KD for the proper Kaylan sheets?

KAYLAN from KD Engineering
KAYLAN is a registered trade name of Kay-Dee Engineering Plastics Ltd (KD).
I will try and clear this up as I am not only a Director but also one of the owners of KD.
I am aware that there has been some misuse of our trade name and we will do everything in our power to protect this and take whatever action is necessary against anybody using it without our permission.
We are the sole manufacturers of this product and it is the same material that we supply to most of the World Rally Teams for mudflaps and underbody protection. It has been developed over a number of years and has been proved to outperform all competetive products. Basically, it not only looks the part but actually does the job too !!
Whilst the requirements of the material for road going applications is not as extreme as under rally conditions, there is still a great deal of costly damage that stones can do to your bodywork when thrown up by the tyres.
In addition to this, we have invested a great deal of time and money overcoming the UV discolouration problems that is normally a nature of the material, in order to keep the material as close as possible to its original colour.
We have a number of companies who are authorised to sell of products for road car kits, these include Prodrive Ltd, Subaru UK, Scotts Automotive and Scoobyworld. We have worked closely with each of these companies and believe that the brackets and associated fixings are of a quality that compliment our KAYLAN product.

KAYLAN from KD Engineering
It was mentioned at the beginning of this thread (although it now appears to have been edited) that the KAYLAN material was being sourced from Plastics 4 Performance. I would like to add that having spoken to them this appears not to have been the case.
Plastics 4 Performance IS an authorised distributor of KAYLAN sheeting and moulded RALLY mudflaps and our materials can be sourced from them. However, distribution of ROAD mudflaps is limited to the companies previously mentioned.
Thanks

Can I also have my two pennies worth, being Plastics 4 performance and the topic of conversation Id just like to set a thing or two straight !!
First of all a few comments made as follows ........''Looks like they have changed their webpage. The competition mudflaps now no longer state that it is Kaylan. Whats the deal here ? ''
Deal is you read it wrong, web page has never been changed since the day it was put up.
''Damn it your right, they have changed it! It definetly said Kaylan yesterday!!!''
Sorry but it never did...ever

Well Kaylan did because of the posts on here, because somewhere along the line someone did not quite pay enough attention when they read the website and its caused a bit of friction between us..
We sell KAYLAN sheeting and moulded mudflaps, we also sell an alternative polyurethane mudflap material as well as a budget road PVC mudflap to try keep everyone happy...obviously its not working
Maybe investing in some new glasses before the mudflaps would be a good idea !!!

I don't want to get into a slanging match, but when you open up your webpage for mudflaps (http://www.plastics4performance.co.uk/mudflaps.htm), the browser window title is "Mudflaps-Competition Kaylan Products". Now i'm not saying that you are trying to purposely misslead people, but it did make me assume that the "Competion Mudflaps" advertised on the page were in fact Kaylan. I'm sorry for any inconvience or friction this may have caused between yourselves and KayDee, but i think that you hold change the website so this could not happen again.

Just looked at that and yes it does...which has gotta be down to how the web design company have titled the page !!!
But the actual page is clear enough...no mention of kayde, no kayde logo etc except on their stuff

The page is much clearer now and less able to be "mis-interpreted" - but would love to see the page as it stood a month ago.
If there was nothing for punters to be confused about then why did the page get altered and KD get involved?
As for my comment about other companies (and I hope John of KD is watching),
have a look at www.raldes.co.uk and do a search of "Kaylan".
Now I don't think there is anything to get confused about that - except when they landed on my doorstep, they turned out to be floppy PVC.
