It seems our original offer was not so BAD in the first place. Our price still unbeatable on the side repeaters. We appreciate Richbay taking the time to put together a number of interested parties and trying to sort a bulk buy to benefit the members. We hope we can be a prty to this more often in the future. However, we do not wish to get involved in a dutch auction. it was a little disconcerting to see one of the moderators blowing someones hard work away with totally inaccurate information!. In an effort to retrieve something from the efforts put in we are happy to reduce the price on the front indicators to £60.00, the sides will remain the same at £17.95. The prices include VAT and although there a slight differences for 99- models the prices cater for all types. If Richbay approaches us with atleast 10 names for the front/side lights then these prices will stand. If you want postal delivery the price is £2.95 if you want courier delivery the price is £7.95 and we can deliver overseas if needed

Cool

Sounds as though the lads from Amber are unbeatable, nice one Amber. We need more competetively priced dealers as yourself.

sorry harj, i did not mean to tread on your toes, i approched Amber performance in an attempt to get the best deal for me and help others out at the same time, it now seems we have two suppliers, i know amber performance are keen to deal with scooby net and as a recognition of there kind offer i will still be sending an order so if anyone wishes to jump in too, please let me know.
(ps i am not making any money out this order, i am just doing it to reduce the cost of the items i am ordering.)
cheers

I'll have a set if clear fronts and clear sides for a my99 sti 5.

Don't care who they come from as the pricing is all very negligible.

Perhaps we should count up the people and if we get enough split them evenly between the two parties who have both been good enough to offer bulk discounts?? (only a suggestion, i'll get my flame proof suit on just in case).

Whatever the resolution is, as i said i'll have front and sides, but i will need them posting.

Harj.
I find it hilarious that you come on here and say that "£63 is a lot for these lenses" and then offer them out at £59!!!!
Only you could get away with that!

as mentioned above we are now collating details from interested parties. We would ask people to phone or mail us with your name, address & payment card details. We will not debit anyones card until the required number of orders have been reached. Once we hit (or exceed) the target payment will be debited and the goods shipped a.s.a.p

hope this is to everyones satisfaction, alternative suggestions welcomed

cheers

Those prices arent bad.

Amber (and others) arent making much on each transaction.

Unless the manufacturers price has suddenly dropped, they are only making a few pounds on each deal.

I wont embarass any companies by stating how much a manufacturer sells them for, but I wouldnt pay more than 19 for the sides.

Am i in a minority when i say im a little disapointed in the bartering over a few quid when we own fairly expensive cars anyway?

if we were talking about brake kits or front mounted intercoolers and the difference was a sensible amount then fair enough, but to argue the toss over what are very trivial amounts seems a bit petty to me.

Hi Amber Performance,

I called today too as it's a very good deal. Unfortunately the gain for me was lost when p&p to Holland are concerned. If I can get 10 to 20 other Dutchies interested then what would the price be? Or are p&p fixed per indicator set? Please advise. It may be interesting for us.
( To give you a comparison: a full set of front and side indicators are priced at 99.63 pounds incl. VAT).

Question

Harj do the prices that you've been quoted include P & Postage?
Ptholt all I can say is that with an attitude like that no wonder letsbuyit.com went bust!

I just find it a little sad arguing the toss for a few quid, when i pay a grand for insurance, a grand for ap brakes, over a grand for possum link.

yet here we are looking for free postage, and a few quid off.........

come on folks, dont be so grim, if i wanted cheap parts etc i'd have bought a nova !

I've just telephoned Amber, I was the 8th person and no. 9 was on the other phone, so come on, we just need 1 more!

As for the issue of arguing over a couple of quid, how does the old phrase go:
'Watch out for the pennies and the pounds....'

Hi ptholt,

Small gains are still gains. And for me 20% off is a big gain. Besides, for some parts you don't even want to spent more than a certain amount (comparing upgraded brakes with clear indicator lights: I know where to spent my money first!).
If I didn't have to bother where to spent my money on, I would be posting on the Ferrari BBS right now

Question

What else shall we ask for in a group buy from Amber performance or another retailer?

Wheels?

Twin headlight kits?

Brakes?

Doorsill guards?

Airfilters?

Exhausts?

Come on people what are you about to get for your Scoob and so would benefit from buying in a group?

What sort of numbers would Amber need for a group buy on more exspensive parts?

Regards

Ian

Centre pod and Gauges sounds a good idea, count me in.

I would go for a front strut brace but I have an STi so don't need one, but there might be others interested.

What about CarMat sets or them rainguard things for the windows?

Unhappy

I just got off the phone with Gavin at Scoobymania.

He said that he doesn't think that they would be able to do the guage pods much cheaper than they allready do.

Guys, the response on this subject seems to be very +ve, we are ore than happy to consider bulk buy arrangements. We sorted a proper deal for the GTiR boys on 10 exhausts from Mongoose they all saved a good £70.00 (not bad on a £385.00 system eh!) Hopefully if we can work through one deal at a time to its conclusion then we can focus on the job in hand (so to speak!). As we are only just moving into the Scooby market choices won't cover everything at present but just ask the RS boys who offer the best all year deals and i'm sure we'll be up there. Perhaps we can look at exhausts , dics/pads or lowering springs next.
let us know

cheers

Question for Amber,
I bought a set of clear front indicators for my '96 car, but they soon filled with water. I sent them back and was told it was a design fault in them, and that new ones would be available end of January and they would also be E-marked.
Are the ones you are selling the new E-marked type or are they still the older design?
Thanks
