Mate of mine parked his evo8 in Bham airport NCP and the lowlifes drove it out through the fence. Likely for parts even though it was only 6 months old. Tracker useless........

Somebody knows these people are at it. Grass them up for all our sakes

That'll be Bold Lane car park- bloody place is like Fort Knox! You need a car park ticket to even get in the place (on foot)

The exit goes right past the security office and you have to get past a barrier AND a metal gate (that fully covers the exit) before you can leave.

It also has movement sensors... you put your ticket in the machine on the way out, and key in your location... and only when you put the SAME ticket back in does it disarm the sensor.

If the car is moved, ALL and I mean ALL the exits are locked... no one can get out at that point!

Gold rated car park... I always try to park there.

(and just to add I (and several others) witnessed this muppet scrape a brand new Audi in the car park and while all us witnesses were swapping details and leaving notes on the car, the guards had held the driver, phoned the police and come to check if we were all okay... switched on or what?)

i think they now guarantee the safety of your car and will pay out if yours is nicked ???

bloody brilliant carpark and not that much more expensive than the assembly rooms car park which used to be directly opposite a police station and still had a bad reputation

Default NCP Birmingham Airport - avoid

Before I got my present STI I had two Cosworths stolen from the long term NCP at Birmingham. I got one back (they couldn't get it moved far enough) but the second vanished - complete with immobiliser, alarm, crooklock. At that time the guys there told me Volvo T5s and Cosworths were favourite targets. This car park appears to have a serious organised crime problem - don't park there.

Why not just find out which staff were working on the night of the thefts and then pick them up and take them for a little 'ride'. I'm sure they'll start to sing...

Jesus, the *******.

The CAT1 would have gone off... thus sounding the alarm or is it possible to enter without it ?! Surely!, The disklock.... I always thought they were 30mins hard at it to get off?!

My 'approach' to NCP goes off today; it is EXTREMELY time consuming to prepare a doc that has SERIOUS written all over it! I enclose receipts to prove that I really have lost thosuands more in ICE etc that my insurance doesnt cover etc etc. I'll let you know how it goes.

For those that asked, I have actually got one of these http://www.rs246.com/modules.php?op=modload&name=coppermine&file=displa yimage&album=180&cat=0&pos=7 in place of the Scoob for baby/big dog and the b@stards DID get me reasons (I hope this debadged, spolierless car in 'common' silver is more stealthy). It has a stage 3 exhaust & remap though - 470LbFt of torque IS consolation for losing my lovely Scoob. It has much more up to date immobilisers and alarm systems etc...

Sorry to hear mate.

Sounds like its a crew who specialise in jap cars, to strip a car that much to get the security stuff out they must know alot about em. I think a law suit is in order against ncp, for failing to report a crime when they were aware of it.

and if the police wont stop em maybe SN should have a sting operation of there own involving baseball bats and cricket bats, not that i'm sugesting we do them much harm!!! as long as they can suck through a straw the injuries shouldn't be to bad.

Well at least you'll know where to park when in Derby (just ask for directions if you are ever in the area!)

Any insurance company gurus out there???

NCP's insurer have got back to me re my detailed claim and are requesting full details of my insurance company. Now as far as I'm concerned this is none of their business as I have already dedcted the amount I got paid for the car from the amount I'm claiming off them.

I really dont want them to accept liability and then pay my insurer for the car whilst neglecting paying me my uninsured and additional losses... That is a zero gain situation!!!

Any help appreciated.

Surprised they didn't get funny about you not declaring mods TBH. Things like wheels etc cause a premium hike as they deem them to be more attractive to a thief....

Im sure some companies would have made a meal out of it. Out of interest, what was the amount of time before you had a cheque at the door?

where does he say he didnt declare mods?

He is talking about NCP wanting to contact his insurance company, and diesel doesnt want that as he is claiming for losses of personal items that his insurer hasnt paid for. If you ever get a car stolen there are loads of things you lose money on due to limitations on what your insurer will pay for.

Misread it John. Bit on page 2 that said he hadnt declared SS driving lights, but had declared wheels etc. I read it as 1 sentence.

Took about a month Mark. Dont even start to think I got the value of the declared mods back let alone the 'undeclared' ones like EQ/Amps/baby clothes in boot/Subaru brolly!!! E.g if I need big brakes on my replacement car there is no cheque for £1700 payable to 'big brakes ltd' from my insurer!!!

Alyn thanks for your sympathies mate. D

>UPDATE<

Xmas eve and I get a letter from NCP's insurers denying any liability as it was not a 'valet' car park. LOL

Small claims court it is then...

If that fails it will be mud slinging - feel free to PM ANY ammo my way!!

These huge profits making corporations MUST take a duty of responsibility towards customers' posessions in exchange for our hard earned.

so they expect you to hand your car over to some potential toerag after disarming all the security, let them 'gently' park it for you and them re-arm 'all' the security...

if that's not a recipe for an inside job and then "Sorry Sir, we can't see it on the monitor" when you find an empty space...

What about trading standards, for them to advertise "secure" it would have to be SECURE or wouldn't it be contravineing some sort of trade discriptions law?

good luck stevie

I was thinking the same.False advertising perhaps?

Are you paying for the solicitor yourself or using your legal protection to claim for uninsured losses?

Interesting Markus... I was just going to DIY - just me, my notes, the helpful and very sympathetic copper and a small claims court...

How about renting (or threatening to) some advertising space such as a bill board that's within sight of the garage. Then tell your story on it. Just think of the lost business for them.

D,

Perhaps a post on here getting all the people who've had cars nicked from that car park to club together?

More people = More noise

You know where I am if you need anything
