i suppose if the kid bullies a lot of other kids, you could speak to the MOTHERS of the other kids, to gang up to the guy and argue with him (don't touch or point rule 1)
HE should not touch a lady as he will be in BIG trouble.,also you will have other witnesses if he touches any one of you, and obviously you can exagerate

however i dredd what his missus will be like, i seen some that are tougher than the blokes.

at the moment. if nothing is happening back off, and tell your son to walk a mile away from the kid,
but if anything else happens put your foot down.

i suppose if school ain't helping you could go straight to the police saying that the school not doing much and the dad threatened your family etc make it sound worse.
when the police sees him,. who would they believe?
he MAY have a criminal record

Joan, I learnt very early on at school that the only way to gain a bully's respect is to stand up to them.

You probably shocked him when you stood up to him, you're only a wee slip of a girl, he probably doesn't know what to make of you. He probably went on the defensive and shouted back at you because it wouldn't have done his reputation as a hard man (in his eyes ) any good to have let you get away with it. Hopefully you'll hear no more from him but, if you do, at least the other parents are on your side and might back you up now.

One thing that confuses me though, I can't imagine why anyone would want to beat up Harrison, he's such a nice kid

Anyway, well done for standing up to him, I wouldn't let anyone get away with that sort of behaviour either and would've done the same as you regardless of the size and reputation of this man, bullies are the lowest of the low and, in my experience deep down they're all big cowards.

Get some pepper spray and a gorilla bar - go up to him, spray the fvcker in the face then proceed to wrap the gorilla bar round his nuts - either or both should bring a tear to his eye.

Milos comment is obviously good but expensive - would be cheaper to kidnap the kid

I'm joking btw - I don't think Milo's suggestion is actually expensive

Can you get hold of a stungun? That'd also do the trick

I fit the description of the man in question
except you're not a c**t like this bloke - you may be a funny c**t but you're not a c**t if you know what I mean. Well you may be face to face but....

Just to say as well - don't bank on people saying that guys like this don't hit women - there are a lot of seriously w4nky blokes out there who wouldn't think twice about it, unfortunately.

He will be taught to defend himself and others if necessary from thugs like that
Sounds like you've got it all planned out for him... The success of this kind of plan will vary immensely from child to child. At my Kickboxing club there are loads of kids under the age of 10. Around 10% of them go there to train and to learn a discipline. The other 90% are sent there to give the parents a couple of hours off each night and simply **** about whipping each other with their belts, screaming and skiving off at EVERY opportunity. The instructor says 50 press-ups on the fingertips and kids who have been going for years STILL just lie on the floor and don't attempt a single one! As soon as the instructor looks at them they flop about in a seemingly energetic manner...

Now I'm not saying that kids should be expected to be suitable material for a martial art at such a young age - that wouldn't be fair - I'm just saying that not many kids are cut out for that, so early in life. It just amazes me when doting parents are shocked that junior hates it and either refuses to go, or simply stands around throwing half hearted punches that wouldn't be any use and are likely to do more harm than good.

There are exceptions though - there are two black belts in my class who are 11 and 12 and I haven't met many people they couldn't handle. Very intelligent too - I think that intelligence is the key: Anyone can learn to fight, but only intelligent people seem to be able to stick with the discipline and the routine.

Also, from a medical point of view, children should not be fighting and boxing too young - their bones and muscles should be helped to develop, not strained and battered; so the club should be aimed at youngsters, not adults.

All the best!

DJ Dunk...very similar......only a bit wider.... Can`t see the tattoo on the back of his head though!!!! Don`t tell me he has a Scooby, (well, no he hasn`t cos he wouldn`t be able to fit in it!!!!!)

A few other mums approached me this morning saying they`re kids had been bullied by this boy too....but as I am relatively new to the area, I didn`t know his dad was a boxer and stood my ground.

Neither parent bought him to school this morning, he just wandered in on his own.....personally, I think I have shook them up by having a go back, something that no-one dared do before......so I think they are keeping a low profile as they are embarrassed............(GOOD)

But if I get anymore trouble from him I 'WILL' go to the police, I am used to getting my own way, Peter will back me up on that one....bless him, love him to bits)
and he will be no exception to the rule........mark my words!!!!

Joan.

P.S. Sal.....Harrison was actually trying to break the fight up between this 'thing' and another kid, when this 'thing' turned around and started on Harrison, but he fell to the floor and couldn`t get up......hence the kick marks on his back and ribs!

ok...heres where i will be accused of being one of "lifes victims" and allowing ppl to get away with what they like......but...

your kid wasnt being bullied as such.....he's not getting a hard time day to day, he just stuck his nose in (nice gesture) and got slapped.....in a way that proves my point. Life is tough, it always has been and always will be. Some times you stick your nose in and come out on top, sometimes you dont. One day Harrison (hmmmm, starwars fan are we ) will be the better on the day (whether its a scarp, job promotion, whatever) On this day he wasnt. Now how does your "crusdae" help anyone? you think you will change this thug? No, you wont...and even if you did life needs thugs and another will take his place soon enough. So what do you achive? At best the kid lays off your kid and little H learns that lifes ok because someone sticks up for me when it doesnt work out (are you gonna stand up to his boss when he misses a pay rise?) and at worse H gets slapped about because he's a "mummies" boy. You also set an interesting trend of defence that you have to decide when to stop....when he's 10...12...16?

If this thug is a real problem its for the school to deal with, if he was a bully of your kid (and by bully i mean bully.....i dont mean he beat on your kid once) then i could see why you'd step in.

In this case, unless there are other factors, i'd back off. And quite what his dad has to do with i dont know? there are a million thug dads.....do you want to have issues with every bloke that will be rude to you? is this about your kid or you and the bloke?

I remeber 20 years ago, my little bro got in a fight with a kid down our road...my bro was slapped about so my mum went and confronted the dad....he acted like your thug did (as many dads will faced with looking a fool in front of a mum) i rember thinking that me and my bro would rather go 10 rounds with Tyson at that point rather than stand there listening to my mum kicking off.

It was no help (other than stopping this kid fighting with my bro.....which was hardly life and death anyway) and did plenty of damage as far as setting a precident for her as an over protective mum......i got in fights in the follwing years where i was beaten silly but told my mum i feel over to avoid her tripping off on one!

In short, the world is nasty and always will be......pick your battles to make sure they matter and are winable (i question this issue on either of those points)

T

and see how those fights effected my spelling!

[quote](are you gonna stand up to his boss when he misses a pay rise?)[qoute]

Yes, I did with my hubby....his w4nker of a boss said his team didn`t achieve their targets when they came top in all of the UK...so mu hubby didn`t get a payrise but the rest of the team did

Anyhow, back to Harrison, yes this boy has picked on Harrison more than once but this kid always says it was the other person and Harrison has got into trouble for it...he has tried to sort it out for himself, but maybe I haven`t given him the right information or something as this kid always comes back for more....
Finally, when I thought it had been sorted, his father jumped in my face, when I thought I was being reasonable and thats how the slanging match started.....all his dad had to say was "yes, it`s all been sorted thanks" or maybe a "sorry, but your kid is just as bad" he wouldn`t even accept that, his kid has been in front of the headteacher numerous times, I don`t think a week goes by that he isn`t in there for something or other.....

Well, as far as I am concerned now we have said what had to be said and it is done with.....but I wont forget it ever happened!

mad dr

Thanks for all the advice...I will be going to the clubs with him and certainly he will not start heavy stuff until he is older. I am in the Healthcare Profession and am aware of the harms that 'Full on' fighting arts can cause a developing body. Do not get me wrong I really appreciate the advice and insight.

By the way are you a mad dr?

I think it`s all sorted,(fingers crossed) the school have told the kids that it is not to be talked about anymore.....

Funny thing this afternoon, when I picked Harrison up though.....
....this boy (the bully) had another fight with another kid at lunchtime, over a football goal..... Still hasn`t learnt his lesson then

Can`t wait to see his mum in the morning....

What more can I say?

Joan.
