Was it fast enough round the track???
Honestly you lot.
If I built a car with some fancy wipers you`d buy it.
I only hope the yaw control doesnt ruin the seat of the pants driving feel I like from Subaru`s like my mates MR340.
Sorry not 4 me!!!

Aaron, I'm glad you're looking forward to your new car. I had a ride in a WR1 on the Isle of Man not long after it came out and it was fabulous. I, on the other hand, am looking forward to picking up my MY05 JDM STI next week, which I personally think looks fantastic in black with its blue interior and gold wheels. I find the all grey interior of the WR1 and the Spec C a bit dull - but hey, everyone's entitled to their opinion.
The '04 (and earlier) cars don't have a yaw sensor, no. You're thinking of the other 4WD rally rep
I doubt in any case that it'll have a similar effect; on the Evo doesn't AYC affect the torque split left to right? On the STI it only locks the centre diff, which can only affect the torque split front to rear. I suspect it'll improve traction out of corners by locking up the diff a bit if it detects slip during hard cornering - but it'll be fun finding out!

If I can get it as good in the handling stakes as the T25 I`ll be pretty happy with that

Truth I`m afraid.
Most folk on here couldnt drive to their cars potential.
Certainly not on the road anyway as it isnt very clever.
Get on the track in the wet that`ll sort you out!!!

No doubt some will take offence at what ill say
The 2005 cars will be better in ways over the WR1 etc, basically, Subaru Japan have gone for the best set up they can, they want to iron out the one thing that has been the achiles heel, understeer, and the only cars that they had that did this was the Spec C's and derivetives.
The WR1 was going to be a flawed car from day one, like my Spec C is, there is always room for improvement, and the 2005 cars have improved over the 2004 cars (in the case of JDM cars, the improvement is in the A-DCCD, geometry and engine) in the uk/euro cars its in the form of the geometry and A-DCCD, which has BTW been improved over the system on my car, the WR1 and previous versions of the Impreza
The biggest downfall for the UK/Euro market is that they dont have the engine improvements that the JDM cars (well they just dont have the same engine, full stop!) and they lack quick rack steering, which does make a difference.
Still, if you want a very good warranty and a dealer network and the security of knowing you have the previous 2 points then you go for a UK car, be it a WR1, an MY02/03/04 or an MY05 STi (note the MY and not version as the version no longer exists ), if you want THE latest, best models available, then go for a JDM car, note that you take a little bit more of a risk running a JDM car due to lack of warranty and main dealer network, though there are enough independent subaru speciallists out there who can service your car properly
At the end of the day, the choice is personal, and for personal reasons, thus my car wouldnt suit many people due to its harshness, but i get the enjoyment i like out of her , so choose what you want, not what people tell you to buy

"one thing that has been the achiles heel, understeer"
I think you need to drive a Wr1 mate, never had any sign of understeer the WR1 can be driven with as much oversteer or as little as you like handles perfectly,i could hardly ever get my old wrx ppp sideways in the dry,now all i need to do is press the throttle

I drive a Spec C
Its geometry setup is now standard due to it doing the above, something no other impreza has done, remove that nasty understeer and the WR1 will understeer if you push it (those tyres dont help )

If I had the monay I'd take the WR1 over a new 05sti. That colour is fantastic , the wheels just happen to be my favourite, and the fact that it has 320PS is a bonus. Never driven one, and don't expect I ever will be able to afford to do so either but if I had the money.......

Three may be a godd un amongst them somewhere but just cos they have raced or race doesnt mean thay are God`s behind the wheel of a Subaru
Look at that muppet the Stig in the WR1.
Classic how not to drive one I think most who can will agree.
Me I know what I want one to do simple.
