It's **** all to do with political correctness - Simple case of "Customer Care".

Let's pretend that Boris worked in a garage (BMW ).

Fat Customer walks in with a complaint that the seats are too small. Boris suggests the following "Why don't you try loosing some weight you fat ignorant ******". Customer complains to Boris's Boss and Boris is made to apologise.

.

Now - Tony Blair gets a job in the same garage and sells a 318i to a young tupperware salesman. He tells the guy that the car is capable of 210 mph, has a 0-60 time of 3.8 seconds and it will leave all known scoobs for dead (especially in the twisties). The Unfortunate tupperware salesman rings Tony from his hospital bed to complain about the cars lack of perfomance and Tony says "Well I was given a dodgy-dossier for the wrong car - you can hardly blame me for that now can you".

In short - It's all TB's Fault .

Not quite, Boris is in charge of service department, one of his staff says the above & Boris is sent to apologise "on behalf" of (now sacked) staff member and the department...

& you're right - TB is to blame

There seems to be some confusion on this thread as to the source of the story - If your version is correct then in fact what happens is this;

The customer complains to Boris and Boris says to the client "I can only apologise on behalf of my employee" - Customer then says "That's not Good enough - I'm from Liverpool you know" To which Boris replies "Well in that case why don't you stop feeling sorry for your fat @rse and **** off home you theiving scouse tw@t".

Is that better .

Unhappy

I must admit that I get sick and tired of hearing about Liverpool. Why? Because everone seems to GENERALISE!

On the one hand Scousers are described in the press etc regularly as spongers, doleys, etc and Liverpool is desribed as having problems with the above, BUT WHAT PROOF is ever given that it's any better/worse than anywhere else?

On the other hand, we get the endless bit, especially in the football world about the "amiable scouser", and Liverpool's fantastic fans............well, I've been, as an away fan, and the fekkers weren't amiable then:

So come on folk, let's leave Liverpool alone, it ain't any better, and is certainly no worse than some places I could mention!

BTW: as regards football, I would think that a certain "Sir" Brian might disagree with best team status:

Yeah, *I* know it's nothing to do with PC, but the usual SN cry over anything like this is 'PC gone mad' and sure enough that's how the thread started so I thought I'd just lob my 2 cents worth in.

I think a BTTT is in order, seeing as though he is here.

Not showing his ugly face until tomorrow, I believe.

Don't really care what Boris thinks, he's ok, sometimes he's funny, other times he can be a tit but his opinion on anything doesn't matter to me, I wont loose any sleep whatever he or the right wing, daily mail reading types on this board say. I find alot of the members here amusing with their chav, gay, pikey, council house scum, it's blairs fault bla bla bla type threads, you are all so easy going and open minded. You should all get out a bit more and meet a few more people.

Interesting thread. To widen it a little, I disagree with BJ (what an unfortunate set of initials!) that the wallowing in grief is confined to Liverpool - anyone remember a certain dim-witted Royal who was stupid enough to think she was somehow immune from the laws of physics. Too posh for a seat-belt, clearly.

Britain as a whole has become a nation of emotional incontinents - sure, no-one wants to see someone die, but when it's because of the situation they put themselves in (idiot princess, Ken Bigley), then why the outpouring of grief. It wasn't your mum, your brother, or even your friend. Just someone you'd (in the case of Bigley) never heard of before, and according to at least one account I've read, not particularly have liked had you done so.

And before anyone starts saying it's political correctness, Tony Blair's fault .... no, we've been doing this for decades, but less so than now. I mean, seriously - idiot bloke thinks he can score a lot of cash in Iraq, pay only available because it's dangerous. In dangerous places, bad things can happen. Sorry, chum, but you rolled the dice. So why the need for a 2 minute silence? This wasn't a great individual who had improved the nation in any way, just an opportunist who, sadly, got in harm's way.

Moose this "wallowing in grief" didn't happen. A guy got his head cut off which is very sad for his family, end of. Just because it was on the news all the time and in the press doesn't mean people are wallowing, I didn't and I don't know anyone that did, I watched the story on the news and thats it, walked the dog then off to work.

Come on, the papers were going on and on for ages, with people endlessly debating the issue. There was a 2 minute silence at the England football match FFS.

Maybe people always spout crap when a camera is put on them, but I recall seeing a Scouser saying "It's terrible, he was one of our own". Well yes, technically, but is wasn't as though he was killed because he came from Liverpool, is it?

I agree the 2 mins silence is pathetic but just because a few tossers at the FA made that decision doesn't mean a whole city is wallowing and as you say stick a camera in front of enough people and you will get a dumbass comment. This boris story has been on the news all morning, i'm not interested, a few council leaders who like a photo opportunity and some church types might want to see him but thats nothing to do with me.
