The difference between 270 bhp!

As the lap ended I was coming out of the Kleine Karussell, and you were just turning in to Galgenkopf. This was fastest recorded lap in the Clio.

Dunno what you are talking about :shame:
To be honest I am glad it happened, and without any damage....make you evaluate how you drive during busy times.

.....do I get an experienced tag yet? How many laps do you need for that?

Considering I was forced to follow you for some distance, it doesn't look too bad . Any chance of sending me the full lap?
This was a sighting lap with two passengers (30 EXTRA stone ) that had only done one previous lap in their own car, so was taken at a sedate speed...

how much power was/is that escos?
how dangerous would it be for an inexperienced tack driver to take a rear biased 500bhp 22B to the ring for the first time?
Can you get an instructor to go with you and keep you slow, or is it automatic to really go for it?
Would love to drive the ring but am worried about getting the mist.

Taking a 500 bhp Impreza is no more dangerous than taking a 100 bhp shltbox. It's down to the driver.
I am sure you can get an instructor, but there are many experienced drivers who can show you the safest lines.
If you are worried about getting the mist.......I woudn't bother going. I think it's fair to say you would need some amount of self control.....especially when much less powered cars overtake you.....such as a Clio.

Just remember, just like a gun, a car isn't inherently dangerous, it's the person who's in control of it...
If you suffer from red-mist, the 'Ring is not a good place to be...

Adam, like Mike said, if you're mature, not at all. However, I think it would be really difficult when you are being hassled and overtaken by 1980s standard Astras, Smart cars, old ****ters of all types, Vauxhall Merivas etc. (I am serious!!) The other danger is when you start to recognise (or think you do) the corners and start speeding up, and then realise it's not the corner you thought it was - I would imagine you could get into some serious trouble in your car!!
Mind you, Mike learnt the Ring in a car more powerful than yours and didn't crash....

P.S. Adam, you could easily kill yourself if you got "the mist" in any old slow crap car on the 'Ring...

Wow, it's my first post, how bizarre!!! My username should be sufficient information for those in the know that I am still here in spirit, if not in car!
Glad to see so many of the 'old skool' still have no life whatsover!
And contrary to one thing I've read, I've always been a free man!!!!!
As for the Ring trips......ah, those were the days.
One things for certain, CK1 will return.....one day. Just not quite sure what car it will adorn!!!

Hey guys.
Thanks for the warm welcome, I feel all nostalgic!
Just getting my head down at work and pottering round in a Saab V6 at the mo. Certainly not a 'cossiekiller', that's for sure!!!!!!
Am looking at a new car in the new year but still undecided. Not sure about returning to Scoobies, I'm sure things have changed sooooooooooo much and I'll never replace CK1, emotionally at least!
I think I did all I could with my car really and I'll probably just leave the legend to fade away!
I recently found all my old tapes from the last couple of Ring trips I did, and I haven't seen it since a few clips were posted at the time. Anyone remember Mr Rainbird's comments as he sat in the back of my car as it took off??????!!!! I'll have to post them up again!!!!!
Great to see so many of you are still so loyal, and well done Simon for maintaining what is still undoubtedly the best online comunity of any marque, though pronably not QUIITE as good since a few stalwarts left!!

Welcome back Stef,
I was off work earlier this year, nothing on TV so had a laugh and watched CossieKiller at the ring video. Brought back some memories for me as well.
The Scooby community was greatly enhanced by the organisation and time you put in for track days etc.
Cheers
Lee

Cheers Lee.
I certainly miss the whole Scooby thing but when the tax man calls he wants paying!!!
Track days are certainly what I miss most, especially the Ring trips. I'm actually persuing the whole track thing as we speak, though I can't really say much more yet. BTCC here I come!!!
I may well pop to a future event and see what the new machines can do. It makes we laugh when I think back to the debates about the headlights!!! Ahhhhhhhhh.........
