Well from personal (A big scar on me heed to prove it) experience (as a passenger wouldn't happen if i was driving no no no ) the Elise can bite back in a big way and is not easily pulled back if the back goes well wide.
Driver used to race cars so not a numpty either, mind you newer revisions are supposed to have got some of that out of its system (wider and slighly longer if memory serves amongst other changes)

Soooo i hope the guys you race against don't push it too far.........

I can fit as much shopping from Tesco's in the back of my Elise as the CTR I owned previously.

i just read a post further up where it says down to performance of a car on a track its 1 drivers ability and 2 ***** ,,,,

(no 2) ***** , will win it everytime , ive seen some crazy b"rtsgsgs in scoobys on tracks and u think wooooooow easy tiger

i also think you can also beat down a car alot more if it isnt your`s !!!!!!!!!

Scooby = Performance Rally Car (The Distinctive Sound Unbeatable)
i think my girlfriend is only with me now to drive it , So Shammone !!!!

Elise = Rich Hairdresser (cant afford a porsche) (NO OFFENSE MAY I ADD)
but if u was gonna go the lotus route style performance upper crust , if u could afford it go M3 ,

comparing sub`s to elise are total diff concepts of car elise - track - subaru - rally
diff is a sub could whip it on a rally course and whip it or equal it on a track ,
or even better the traffic lights !!!!!! fit more shopping even got ******* space in the back !!!! list is endless for possibilities

but end of the day an elise is a lotus (Sheer Class And Quality)

I’ll second that.

I especially liked this bit, think he’s completely missed the point of the Elise.

its a bit more than an elise with a roof from my experience- a fair bit sharper due to the added stiffness

Are there many scooby owners that have made the swap that would care to give me some advice, ie how much would i miss the relative comfort and practicality of the scoob. How easy is it to fit a small tent etc in an elise for weekend camping/car shows.
The dream of the elise is zipping down a twisty country lane in the sunshine with the roof down. How near is this image to the real truth.

I made the switch. depends if comfort is impoprtant to you. personally it aint to me. i managed to fit my computer (standard mini tower) and rucksak in the boot, so has a bit of practicality. Like you mention the best part is roof off in the sumer. As much as i love the impreza, it is preety boring compared to an elise. Elise is always an experience to drive. It looks good and drives great
