Can you find an insurance loss assesor. They maybe able to help fight your corner.
I agree that your car was in brand new condition before the accident. If its repaired then it will not be in the same condition as before the accident.

I know how you feel. Have just rolled my impreza GX due to a fast moving isuzu and a narrow lane. It's amazing what little speed you need to roll a car when you have a steep embankment to do the job for you. i have a pic. it must surely be a write off if it has been upside down. I wont even be able to get a replacement as its high mileage renders it worthless.

She basically drove into the side damaging every panel and the rear wheels are now wonky!

Need it written off otherwise we lose loads of money having a crash repaired car!

So really need any advice there is.

Cheers

Car has been taken away today :-(

Fingers crossed for us, we need her written off cos then we get a new one.

Ive spoken to the dealer we bought her from and he has said County's are a brilliant coachworks who charge excessive amounts so we will either have a brilliant job done, or she will be written off due to the high cost of repair.

Im emailing pics to people so they should be up soon. Pics dont actually look as bad as she was!

Angry

Should get a call today from chap at work shop. So worried he will say the car is repairable. Does anyone know of any successful argument to not accepting it being repaired?

Please help!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Just had the call.

Not a write off, £7,500 repair bill tho!

Will now sue the ar*se off the cow for my back and neck injuries.

Car will be as good as new and they will not be able to give us less money trade so i have been told, so in a couple of years when we have the money, will be able to trade up to an STi

Totally fecked off, its a joke!

Can you claim for the hire of an equivalent car? After all, you didn't buy a brand new car and put up with the steep depreciation just to drive around in a 1.0 Micra for any number of weeks.

I can't imagine how annoyed you are.
Best wishes.

How can you think that would have ever been a write off ?

Yes it looks messy but its not that bad a job to repair.

Replace 3 panels (Wing, 2 x door skins) and repair the rear quarter and suspension and away you go.HPI will never show it up as the car was never a total loss.

Screw the dizzy driver to the floor though for everything else.

if they repair it dont they put that amount of damage on a register so ppl can check the cars past

if so i would think you might struggle to sell it in the future

only a thought tho as i am not sure anyone know if they do

oh and maybe a B piller as well.

So 2 doors, a wing, touch of bodge (or filler as some people call it!) and some paint

but's it not as bad as i thought it would be, my mate buys cars like that all the time (and worse) , repairs (or gets them repaired) and sells them.

As you can see from my first post i wanted it to be a write off so was finding out what would make it a write off. Two grand more damage and it would have been! Was told all we needed was for the A pillar to be twisted or a bit of damage to chasis and a new car would have been on our drive.

What is unbelievable is that the stupid woman was probably only doing 5 miles an hour max (in her G reg fiesta) as she was stationary till we got along side her then she turned into us!

Glad that you think £7,500 damage isnt much Zippy! We were hoping there was hidden damage underneath to get it up to the £10,000 needed for it to be written off.

Doesnt matter too much as we will be keeping the car for about 5 yrs now, so by that time the crash damage wont affect price as much as normal depriciation anyway.

Unhappy read this thread the other day...

...and wondered if County of Chelmsford are County Motor Works at Springfield? If so, I went there for some minor respraying on a cill and a mirror on a Calibra (...i know now...) a few years ago and the service was terrible. Masking tape was left on the mirror and they claimed the mirror had been removed; finish resembled textured hammerite (ok not quite that bad but i was pretty p'd off by that stage) and there was overspray on all the rubbers round the cill. I eventually sorted it myself and vowed never to go there again.

Having said that, I would be interested to know if they have improved as the air conditioning man at our office just reversed into the side of the front bumper on my 52 plate WRX this morning in Broomfield Road! D'oh!
