agreed unfortunately buying one of those wasn't in my wallet at the time this however is fantastic.

Lovely car Hawks. Do you mind if I ask if you know how much the conversion costs ie not the whole car but the Ruf fee? Congrats you are driving a truly special car.

I'm sorry, but adding the engine bits only doesnt make a standard 996 Turbo a RUF car and the exhaust system and rear spoiler pictured on the car are the standard Porsche turbo items.

It has no RUF cosmetics added what so ever and if you look at the pictures of the Red RUF car you can clearly see the differences and thats only the exterior, the steering wheel is always labelled RUF as usually are the seats.

Now i know you have said the previous owner wanted it to be discreet, but in the same way i can get a standard WRX up to WR1 power levels doesnt make it a genuine WR1 car does it.

Do you have any documentation to prove its had the upgrades as i'd hate to think you had bought a standard Turbo under the impression it was RUF fettled.Because to me that car is standard and unless i had seen proof wouldnt believe it.

Its still lovely but i was expecting a ' PROPER RUF ' Porsche.

terribly sorry it's not up to your exacting standards zippy and yes thank you I now have recieved the proper documentation from the previous owner and it's actually had the 550 bhp conversion some im over the bloody moon

Having said that ONLY on scoobynet could someone liken a wrx or wr1 to either a porsche 911 turbo or a ruf powered one.....hmmmmmm

ps ive now changed the post title (in my first post) to reflect my political incorrectness

Very nice car. Whether it's a Porsche with RUF bits or a RUF with Porsche bits, I bet it puts a massive smile on your face every time you drive it.

Enjoy (lucky git)

Yes but again your post said my 520 BHP RUF Porsche, which it isnt,my comparison with a WRX and WR1 is because its a Subaru web site (Think about it)

If i decided to bolt STI parts onto a WRX does that make the car an STI, no me thinks not,so my point was correct, you posted look at my RUF Porsche when it clearly isnt one.

I'm not saying its not nice, its just YOU labelled it incorrectly and you have now thrown yours toys out the pram because i put my opinions up.

You should have posted '' Look at my Porsche with upgrades ''

PS. The exhaust shown is the standard version as its the same on a 996 Turbo at work.

Zippy

Dear Mr HTS Slayer,

It has come to my attention that the motor vehicle you recently attained, has, at some unfortunate moment been described as a RUF Porsche. Though you kindly acknowledged your grammatical and descriptive error, you continually appear to be determined to incorrectly describe your modus transportus.

I too made the mistake of trying to label my acquisition falsely and now graciously accept it to be a blatant rip off RS200 kit car replica, not a stunning car designed by a talented motorsport grounded petrolhead. It is truly unfortunate his name isn't Lee Kit-Car, as then, there would have been no arguement about what the car should be called.

So as to cause no further confusion, could you also graciously adopt the use of correct terminology as stated below.

550 bhp VW Beetle

Looks great, are you about on Friday after lunch?????

you obviously didn't see the in my post zippy i have admitted that in the light of things i maybe shouldn't have said ruf porsche. However if you want to get technical a Wr1 is only a ppp'd sti is it not??

I haven't thrown my toys out of the pram and have like you pointed out changed my original post (see post 1)

Surely this is far better than labelling a car that has had only the cosmetic mods done as a RUF (like some BMW 318i owners with M bodykits)? To me, the engine/drivetrain/suspension mods are the important things.

PS: HSS, don't take it to heart. I was told on here that I have a "kit car" (Cerbera)
How much did the Porker set you back, incidentally? I think the only (vaguely affordable) things I would replace the Tiv with are a Porker 993/996 Turbo (the more power the better), some sort of Ferrari (355/456) or an Aston (DB7 Vantage).

What's wrong with that? Quite generous really

Hawk,

Are the suspension/brakes std or RUF as well?

Nice post Diablo, tut tut, no i dont give a toss anymore and as for the comparisons with Subaru's and mods i thought it would have been obvious as to why on a fooking Subaru web site.

If i was to post pictures of WRX with the title ''look at my 300 BHP STi'' you would all pull it to pieces (and you know it) not one of you would say well its the performance bits that count.Like f#ck it is.

I never once slated the car as i like ALL Porsches but my point was his post was WRONG, yes he has now adjusted it but he posted up the word RUF which would encourage petrol heads to open it and look only to find it isnt one.

You know the saying '' Its not what was written on the tin ''

As for all his other a#se kissing buddies '' keep it up '' i'm sure he's loving the adulation you keep giving him.
